City "seamless" according to the commentator
What? They've been middling at best
Don't get me wrong they're clearly better than us and will win but the Pep lovefest is so embarrassing.
The assist for their goal was a good one tbf
They haven’t battered us so far so the first half was aight I guess. A few promising moments
I actually think we grew into that. Frustrated by Jackson - nothing's changed. Frustrated by Enzo - nothing's changed.
Lavia has been very good, Cucurela and Gusto have been decent and there are signs from Nkunku too. We should not be behind imo

Definitely not seamless. We could(should) have punished them more than a couple of times with the chances we had
I only just realised who the ref is, he can't even try to hide that he hates us
I don't see point moaning about decisions - none were stonewall.
Also, they all would be irrelevant if Enzo had a first touch, or if Jackson could watch the line properly, and if Nkunku wasn't wasteful.
Overall we’ve been decent. Not much between us - just a great flick from Bernardo Silva is the difference. And a striker who can finish.
Aside from the offside I don’t think you can be frustrated with Jackson. Loads of his runs went ignored. He’s done decently well.
Enzo has been bad. Difficult to sit your captain tho.
Jackson being offside again is showing that the guy doesn’t learn quickly

Somewhat disappointed with Gusto. Been in very good positions a few times but has been wasteful with his final ball. The kind of opportunities James often eats up
Anyway, not watching the pundits today — Sturridge, Richards and Redknapp offer as much insight on football as my Grandad - and he's been dead 11 years.

lol at least gusto is healthy enough to play
Decent half from us...some good plays if no real clear chances. Nkunku looks really sharp. Always an uphill battle against city but if we keep it up in 2nd half we give ourselves a chance. Trouble is City always look so dangerous in the final 3rd
Their goal also came from a not great Gusto clearance
But I blame James more than him for being a complete fecking moron. I was livid at the time even though others didn’t seem as bothered.
Enzo in the #10 position is not ideal, but this is the first game of the season and it’s against Man City. It might not reflect the starting team going forwards.

--------------------------------------------------------------------Because a decent striker may go through 90 minutes and touch the ball twice BUT when he has a chance, he has to bury it - which includes the awareness of staying onside - especially in situations where he should not be close to straying offside,

Yeah it's a shame we don't have a super clinical, goal machine striker like City do. It can paper over so many cracks and deficiencies.
Feel like a broken record on this though. The club seems adamant that they're not going to buy one. One day the penny might drop I suppose.

What injury does he have? Apart from his suspension when is he likely to be back?
Tim Howard “cucurella could do nothing”
always knew he was a genius
Racism aside, why is Enzo starting as a 10.
Literally anyone with eyes knows it’s a bad idea. How much more evidence is needed? He said he watched many of our games last season.
Is the manager just stupid or something.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I am unconvinced Maresca really sees him as no10 - I think he just wanted 3 in midfield vs City.
Imagine it'll be two of Enzo, Caicedo, Lavia and KDH in the games against teams outside the top six which will be much more significant in determining our season.

Jackson is actually quite solid outside the box (barring the odd brainless flick). Holds up the ball well and can carry it forward decently too. Just lacks all the instincts in front of goal of a clinical striker
