We are leaving pockets of space unoccupied that would relieve a lot of pressure in midfield at times. Need some better movement and awareness by the players who sometimes bunch up

He hit one excellent pass for Madueke which was much harder than three much easiers ones he messed up.

I don’t agree with the lack of control angle. Think we maintain pretty good control throughout and nearly always fck it up with a lazy/inaccurate pass.

Enzo still feels like he’s not on the same wavelength as the rest of the team…assist aside

Agree 100% with this

Feels very exposed in midfield, both Caicedo and Enzo don't seem to have the legs to cover the massive gaps we leave in front of the defence

Jackson stayed onside

I'd like to see Nkunku given a run as striker in the second half. Think that's where his future lies in this team as he's not getting in ahead of Palmer in the 10 role.

It feels too basketball like in midfield for my liking. I don't know enough about Maresca to know if that's intentional or not.

I'm talking about the fact that what you call a bad pass usually comes from us overstretching ourselves too much as Maresca's style is actually all about making opposition players jump out of position allowing overlaps - which happened for the opportunity Madueke missed. When it breaks down, we are exposed. The key is to pass and pass, make their player "jump out" and PASS through the space they evacuate. It will work if we do it well.

Think Enzo ia improving but he just always seems too lightweight. Caicedo has been good till now though.

Pretty solid half

Palace haven't offered anything

But more awareness in the final third would be good

But again feeling is better than last season thus far, especially against the same time frame......these were the small incremental improvements I was expecting, not only seeing it in March.

I think Lavia partly solves this

Decent half. Should’ve scored another. Madueke with 2 great chances.

Wish we’d move the quicker out of defence. Especially after we took the lead the CB’s were inviting pressure on us.

I don't think he does. We improve with Lavia in place of Enzo, sure but the system is what it is.

Hope DH gets some mins for Enzo in the 2nd

Another game or 2 like this and he needs to be dropped, offering very little overall

It’s why I have issue with Enzo being by Captain in the first place. Makes it difficult to pull him off early when he’s stinking up the place. Also don’t think he deserves it.

Fully agree. Was always a strange move, especially after what he did at the Copa America
