Lazy Sancho apparently….

Jadon Sancho won more duels (8) than any other player in the game.

who said hes lazy?

But duels won/lost doesn't really highlight workrate anyway mate.

Think Ten Hag will be sacked over upcoming international break, gives them time to plan next manager.

Genius former coach Potter is on MNF

I do actually think Potter would have done a lot better with the more settled team we have now then the chaos he inherited, but he just lacked the personality for a top job imo.

I don't think anyone could have succeeded walking into what Potter did. As I said at the time you could put prime Jose or Pep in that scenario and they'd both have failed as well.

So for me it's really difficult to judge Potter as a coach because he did very well at Brighton and his time at Chelsea barely counts imo. I suspect that he'll do at least quite well in his next PL job if it ever happens.

As delighted as I am for Cole netting four does anyone else think that others in the team could have got a bit more credit for their parts in the goals? Nico Jackson drawing the keeper out and then laying it on a plate for Palmer for the first goal and Sancho's lovely through ball for Cole's fourth. Both very much team goals I thought with Fernandez and Sancho's intricate interplay resulting in the pen for the second goal.

No doubt that Palmer's beautiful freekick for the third goal was all on him though.

“ Nico Jackson drawing the keeper out and then laying it on a plate for Palmer for the first goal”

I actually think you’re giving waaaay too much credit to Jackson here. He was ahead of the defender but stumbled and miscontrolled the ball, and was fortunate that his mishit pass found Palmer. And he didn’t lay it “on a plate” either - it was a difficult finish that I doubt anyone else in the team would have scored from.

Jackson does great running off the ball, and a number of our goals have come from his excellent movement. But all too often he gets into great positions and then nothing will come of it due to poor final passes or bad decision making. He often does the difficult thing and then messes up the easy part. I do believe in him though, and think he will improve.

He definitely suffered being the guy after Tuchel. I think most of us could see the owners were making his job impossible, but it's really hard to get behind a good manager in the knowledge we ditched a great one for no good reason to get them.

It says a lot for me when despite looking at the results, I don't consider him even in the conversation of our worst managers I've seen.

His last game is quite telling too. Usually a managers last game (in a mid-season sacking) is a depressing affair where the team look apathetic and/or imbalanced beyond the point of no return. From memory his last game was Villa (H) where we actually peppered them but got caught losing 0-2.

Starting horribly & getting sacked in the midst of turning a corner just shows the problems had little to do with him.

It wasn't remotely difficult. The goalkeeper wasn't even in goal when the ball comes to Palmer as Jackson had dragged the keeper completely out of position. So the goal mouth is empty apart from one defender who obviously can only do so much. It's a straightforward shot for any PL attacker to make.

Cole Palmer has been directly involved in more Premier League goals than any other player since the start of last season and now has more goal contributions (43) than PL appearances for Chelsea (39).

Got our own Messi. Hopefully he stays put. Already lost 2 highly rated youth players to City/Pool last summer.

Agree with you. Seems silly to suggest Jackson didn’t mean that pass.

I mean I think he meant it, but past actions could make it dubious lol

Yup, I'm at a loss as to why anyone would think that Jackson doesn't mean that pass. He's looking at Palmer as he's passing it to him. Not sure how clearer it could possibly be lol.
