We lost. We should have scored 2 or 3 goals but made some clangers and got hot headed.

Let's be honest there's lot of games we won this season that were equally in the balance like that.

Now, some people might say that lack of control is proof Maresca is not up to snuff. That's fine, fair enough.

I think it's just a reality with the players we bought and the profile of our squad. It's less unpredictable than under Poch but it's still unpredictable in terms of decisions make in every game. I think every manager would struggle with that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree with most of this. I just think too many are too quick to judge one way or the other. I have never bought into the narrative that this team is much better than last season thanks to Msresca. Simply because its way too soon to make that conclusion. At the moment it feels like a consolidation but we have 19 more games to tell us what it really is.

We know. You let us know after every match.

A game with no positives. I kinda see it as a turning point in our season. Maresca can either be stubborn and continue as is or he can go back to the drawing board look for ways to get us out of this slump.

And I'd call it a slump not just because of results but also our struggles in front of goal. Teams seem to have our attack figured out - Maresca should lasering in on that

I would say team selection is one of the most important decisions for a manager.

Everyone knew Disasi at RB wasn’t going to be a success. We had Gusto and Josh.

And we have other attackers on the bench for better balance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If that's true then anyone on football manager would be as good as a manager on the field. It's a dumb take.

Management is about 100s of decisions minute by minute in a game and thousands in the week before a match. It's not pick the team, submit team and run the sim.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There’s a lot of factors but I’m saying picking the wrong players in the wrong position is a pretty big deal, that can override a lot of other good work done behind the scenes.

Note I’m not criticising other aspects of his management today. Literally just choice of players because that’s a glaringly obvious issue than even a basic fan like me and you can see. And we were proven right!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, if Disasi hadn't made those mistakes and Ipswich had won 2-0 off set pieces because Gusto is a shrimp, that'd be on him too?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I wouldn’t blame him for that particular decision, correct. Can still blame him for starting 3 10s.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't rate Felix but the reality is we created enough chances to score goals and win. But honestly, I can't make a case for any of our wingers to turn up, can you?

That’s the real downer. There was nothing positive about the match from our perspective. I would say at least James didn’t get injured but one can never be sure. Those seats looked hard.

I don't think we have learned anything new.

Chelsea v Fulham was very similar to Chelsea v Brenford - but the results were opposites.

Tonight was in some ways similar to away to Spurs, we let in a clanger (only one not two) but didn't peg them back and got sucker punched.

I haven’t either. I don’t really care regarding the table. It’s the performances. I’m looking to see growth, organization, fight and creativeness.

Saw none of that today unfortunately

Well maybe a little fight at the end

We created plenty against spurs. Not sure we had more than 2 clear cut chances today. I'd be less worried if their goalkeeper had a worldie and we were genuinely unlucky.

Fundamentals from last season have not changed which are that we are a poor defensive team. Our improvement in attack this season has so far bailed us out, but if we don't fundamentally improve defensively then top 4 will be a tough ask, but not impossible.

Rinse and repeat

Said it before but Maresca's post-match comments will be interesting. He's been pretty up front in previous interviews but that's easier to do when things are going well.

Correct. I don’t see how Disasi can improve. It’s personnel at this point. Need a new CB and GK for sure

As long as we never see Diaster at RB I'll be happy. Enzo usually takes a few games, but seriously no more excuses for that. And if he isn't willing to go with kids/chilly/James we need some back up at least.

Based on tonight Gusto is getting sent off or suspended a few more times this season

Anyone reckon we need some movement in the transfer window next month?

I feel like if we're "serious" about top 4 then some reinforcements are probably required.

But they need to be more guaranteed to a degree, don't want us buying for the sake of buying. Happy to promote internally like the Argentinian to try, rather that than throwing money at maybes

For Palmer FC to return, he needs to be receiving the ball a lot closer to the goal than he has in recent weeks.

I don’t like the attitude of not reacting to the losses because there are genuine things the manager has to learn from, otherwise we’ll see the same issues again.

If he is able to fix at least some of the more basic/obvious issues, and if the refs stop showing bias against us, then we’ll at least be getting draws from these games instead of losses.
