Id rather we kept PVA than Bertrand. PVA impressed me far more when he came on for us. Which was more times than Bertrand. Bertrand did pretty good his one time bit that's it.
Couldn't give a toss what the loan clubs fans thought. Since when do they decide who plays for us?
PVA just signed on for another 4 years. I doubt its to go away on loan.

Gazza - Luiz can play there, but probably "standard" at best. He's had a few good games there for Benfica, and a few bad.
PVA is better suited to being a left winger not a left back.

I said I was more impressed with PVA than Bertrand in their appearances for us. I did not say one was better than the other. Anyway I think they're both around the same.with different sets of skills.
PVA is not only pace. That's ridiculous. Watch his games with us. He did decent defending and also had a great couple of shots.
does not = right
PVA isn't shocking, it's clear when he wants to he can attack well. Defending still needs some work. Bertrand is the more accomplished and experienced LB
If there's an injury, let's just say I'd rather see Bertrand have a string of games than PVA. Maybe play him in the reserves for the first half of the season, with Ryan getting the odd appearance in the reserves too...then we can have a better indication.

Just keep doing for a few minutes straight.
Hey hey Saint he really isn't that bad! Like RTM said he did impress when he played for us, it just all went wrong at Leicester. RTM we also have to base it on their performances on loan as well, you could argue that if PVA can't do it for Leicester he couldn't do it for anyone( just an example, we both know he's talented and has impressed in the Championship before).
Gazza - Looks more "unatural" playing there, tended to drift further to CB which i suppose many would. Even Ivan has been guilty of that on ocation.
But he only played about 3-4 games there when others were injured.
Go on, amuse me.
I know a site for that
Look I know we should base our opinion somewhat on their performance on loan but not completely. Its mostly for experience.
Here's what I mean. Leicester are hardly a top quality side. They are more likely to give away the ball in bad positions and make ridiculous errors. PVA is an attack minded lb. For all we know the manager could've been giving him the orders to get forward which would make him look a lot more vunerable at the back when a ball was lost. That would also get into his head and he would then hesitate to get forward. It would seem ad though his attack game has dwindled away.
Sometimes people play to the quality of those they play with because it is necessary. We shouldn't be so quick to call someone shoking when they clearly did well when coming on for us.

I'm with Saint on this one.
I see nothing in PVA, but Bertrand has impressed me in nearly every game I've seen him play.
Kyle Naughton is a similar attacking RB and he did well at Leicester, probably the best fullback in the Championship so I'm not sure if that's the problem. Leicester is because he wasn't motivated enough. When at Newcastle last year he was did well, and then he appeared to step onwards, impressing in the appearances he made for the first-team this season, and he's rewarded by being sent back to the Championship where he's already proved himself. Possibly putting him back where he's impressed would let us see the best of him again.
Also PVA only had two proper games for us and these were against teams of lesser quality and he also wasn't rated defensively, just saying. If he managed to perform like he did in those games in maybe 10 appearances I'd be more impressed.
Saint, he has a good cross, shot, attacking is good when he fells like it and he's also actually quite strong.

Leicester is a possesion minded team, so that excuse is out the window.

What excuse? They aren't a lesser quality side who are more prone to error because they are possession minded? Riculous.
Still giving PVA credit where due but it's important not to blow it to much out of proportion!
At least in te games he played for Chelsea he definateky wasn't scared to go forward.
His only attributes seem to be pace.
So we have 4 years of it
