Nuri Sahin has already begun training for next season. The Turkish central midfielder knows he needs to put the legwork in now if he wants to start next season at the same level as his colleagues, and he’s following a tailored training program to achieve just that.
Sahin’s homework has been set by Mourinho and Rui Faria, and the midfielder is also working with a trusted personal trainer he knows, to make sure he adheres to the Real Madrid coaches’ instructions.
Last season, Sahin never managed to work at the same intensity as his teammates due to an injury that was lingering from his days at Borussia Dortmund. The Turkish international arrived in Madrid with a troublesome ligament in his knee meaning that during the pre-season he couldn’t train as hard as the rest of the team.
José Mourinho tried to get him back up to speed with various personalised training routines, but he never believed he was quite ready to be a regular in the team. Over the season he only took part in 10 games: four in the league, four in the Champions League and two in the ‘Copa del Rey’.
Sahin’s current work is mainly intended to strengthen his quadriceps, vital to help prevent further knee damage. The young midfielder has had ligament injuries three times over the last year.
That would explain why Sahin didn't play much last season

We haven't actually bid for Debuch btw. All our decision making guys are on holiday and the local press have all denied we've bid for him.

You won't need to Andy as he's heading our way anyway

I know Gazza.
Never said Mourinho was going to advocate the sale of Sahin without giving him a chance
