With you on that. At least until any new striker has had time to bed in.
Get the Yak Back, you must want your head looking at! The fact that there is not a queue of clubs looking to pick him up tells you everything. He is the laziest player that I have ever seen, any reasonable striker would have scored more than the 12 that he finished with last season, given the amount of chances we created and if he had actually chased the ball a bit more we could have finished up in the play off's.
I doubt we'll get the Yak back now. It's all gone very quiet and the suggestion is that he wanted to be fed too much in Sterling.
I'm now hoping that we can get hold of David Nugent, who should have the quality to perform at the top of this league.
any reasonable striker would have scored more than the 12 that he finished with last season - Yak was our second highest goalscorer and played 21 (I think) games for us
There are not many teams in the championship who could afford his wages - people like cms might help get out of this league but would be found wanting in the prem.
Nugent - nice thought but gone very quiet on him now - if he wanted to sign for us surely he would have done by now as he's out of contract?
Forget the Yak; that bird has flown (about as well as pigs can).
The Mercury suggests that Nugent will sign later this week - I reckon he has been hanging on for a Premier league club. If we get him, Mills and Masambula we can be well satisfied.
