It must say something, 7 or 8 games in England and just the one goal?
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
That is against the best English teams. Ronaldo struggled against Chelsea/Liverpool. Play Messi against Hull and Blackburn and watch him rip them apart
Very fair point.
'And that's not even mentioning his record against Manchester United in the 2009 and 2011 finals, where he scored in both, one with Ronaldo, and one without.'
Ronaldo was awful in that game, just awful. But we don't seem to be able to cope with Messi, I think Fergy refuses to give in and play a team to contain Barca like others have.
Chelsea have certanly contained him in the past, we did at the Camp Nou and OT in the past, he hasn't looked good in any of these. He was great last year vs you lot mind, although you aren't the typical British football team are you.

Whoa what happened there..
Messi has not scored in 7 games against us.
That's better
Think I've inadvertently investned my own language.
invented <doh?
Im just gna leave. Bye.
His "supply" that everyone raves about when trying to fault him has been lacking somewhat this season. However he still gets the goals.
Also he is a very limited player however the way he plays to his strengths is astounding.
He is over-rated in the fact that people are already calling the best ever.
No doubt that he is the best in the world currently.
Ronaldo has no short of supply either. At United he had Rooney, Tevez, Berbatov, Nani, Scholes, Giggs. and now he has Kaka, Benzema, Ozil, Alonso, Di Maria. Not exactly a lack of supply.
They are 2 very different teams, Barca have 8 or 9 players who just want to keep the ball, they keep the ball and Messi decides when he wants to try score a goal, he is patient and is most effective in tight situations.
Ronaldo is part of a team who want to score when they get the ball, they are an awesome counter attacking team and that's where Ronaldo flourishes.
As the stats would suggest (over their careers), they are equally effective and improving every season.
Mourinho seems to have perfected his Real Madrid idea now. It's not only a technically able team, but also powerful.
Barca appear to have upset their perfect balance from last season by trying to accomodate Cesc. If anything, Cesc's first touch and passing aren't quite at the level of Xavi and Iniesta, although he did say that this was something he would have to work on to match their level.
But the point is, Messi's personal records have continued to improve despite the apparent drop in Barca's overall cohesion.
To be considered GOAT.
You must win the world cup.
Messi will never win one sadly
