So did Motherwell and Dundee get banned for a year from signing players?

Rangers havent technically signed anyone for ages

they still owe every team money

care to highlight the most recent case of an spl team prior to rangers , namely Gretnagoing into admin for a better like for like comparison than teams from different divisions and before the 10 point penalty was introduced.

Show me the transfer embargo imposed on those teams and the £50 grand fine and i will happily accept the punishment

Now, Now Gaffer don't burst their little bubble with the truth, its only them in the whole world who have been punished for breaking the rules that they themselves helped to put in place, of course they probably never envisaged those same rules would ever be broken by them.

----000----

So Motherwell , Dundee and Gretna were given a 12 month embargo regardless if administration situation?

posted on 24/4/12

Dundee actually went into administration owing £20m first time around
They were losing £100k per week....
They were only deducted 25 points because of the fact they went into administration twice in a 7 year spell.
...First time around they escaped punishment altogether.

Motherwell were in administration for 2 YEARS!
You act as if the SPL were the ones who made the decision to release all these players,.
They weren't. It was the administrators who took this decision, so effectively the punishment is again nil

Livingston were also so heavily punished for going into administration twice in a 5 year period

The precedents are NOT there, despite the way you dress the facts up...

Were Gretna not demoted to the 3rd division before they ceased to exist?

Also, this punishment is not purely for going into administration, its for bringing the game into disrepute. Should you not be pointing to clubs found guilty of that rather than just going into administration?

posted on 24/4/12

Can't believe somebody did an article about precedents when it's the exact opposite

posted on 24/4/12

Isn't it bringing the game into disrepute by being in admin? One and the same charge

Gretna were funded by the SPL to enable them to complete the league that season.

That was the season when Celtic got benefit of an away game at a neutral venue of Livingston rather than another game at fir park v Gretna where they only sneaked a last minute victory compared to a walk over at livingston

That season celtic played 19 home , 18 away and 1 at a neutral venue.

Another tainted title

I have no problem with the fines. They are clearly stated, and are the maximum which could be imposed.

The transfer embargo is complete and utter nonsense, however. It is a penalty plucked out of thin air with no relevance to the alleged crime.

A more fitting penalty might have been to prevent Rangers PAYING for players during 2 transfer windows, but allowing out of contract / bosmans etc.

Any embargos which have previously applied to ANY Scottish clubs have ONLY applied while the club was in administration, and even then that was rarely the case in past examples

If we are liquidated, then I have no problem entering the third division.
The punishment will then fit the crime

A first time admin, where we've already been deducted the points outlined in the rules, does not warrant the league then pushing to have us more heavily punished to SET a precedent, and also in the process, scare off any would-be buyers who may give us the slightest chance of exiting administration in a healthy position...

Well why the investigation the IE? Surely if that was the case then it would be just a case of checking companies house, seeing "in administration" and applying punishment for bringing the game into disrepute.
