it is worrying though, that all these players have gone with no clear replacements. good work with reid in for tyson, but maybe we have let players such as mckenna go a little prematurely. i hope we can improve on mckenna, but what if we miss our targets. and with no sign of earnie or moose at preseason training, it looks like they'll be going too.

I'd imagine promoting a few youth team players is on the agenda somewhere, McKenna does need replacing, especially if we're to lose the Moose. I know I've said it a lot but I'd love Norris on a free, he scored a few last season too and we were in need of goals from CM (other than McGugan), imagine a Forest team in it where the experience captain can pass and chip in with a few goals.

I've heard SM has 4 new signings lined up, 2 of which are apparantly free agents with PL experience. No idea about who they are, but if it's true we'll have a bit more depth to the squad in the next week or so, and also a bit more quality !

"no chairman would be stupid enough to leave a manager with only 14 outfield players"

I'd change 'would' for 'should'. Marthur has stuffed up deals before by annoying other clubs. Until we have 'done deals' for the gaps in the squad I'll be nervous.

Yes we'll have enough players to form a squad this time next month, but how many will be last-minute stop gaps or loanees?

I truly hope the answer's none because I don't want a decent manager like McClaren stifled by others' stupidity at the negotiating table.

Norris signed for Pompey weeks ago I felt we should have gone for him on a free

Still need a left back, what's the chances of us actually signing one on a perm?? Esp now we've let Jules go.

Can't imagine for a minute SM would let Jules go without having a replacement already lined up - my guess is we've got a new one, they just haven't announced it yet.

Let's hope so, but as we all know, these decisions at Forest are very often out of the manager's hands.

Very true. Hey, maybe we ask Burton Albion if we can have one of their players - seems to bethe tactic used by that shower up the road !

Yes Bennett is very good, especially in league one where he was voted our player of the year
Always gives 110%, never shy of a tackle and had a fierce shot, excellent signing for Wednesday.
