The simple fact is (in my opinion), you shouldn't drop in-form players. Especially when they're in-form, fit, injury free & the immediate replacement is not of a similar standard.

The simple fact is that teams as a whole under-perform when the replacements are not sufficiently "in form" to minimise the difference.

So the best players by definition have to play less for the sake of their replacements being able to step up on demand if needed.

Being used less does not mean "being dropped" .
They may start but not play the entire game, be subs and then get a run-out as events allow/dictate.

Just wondered if anyone thought Bale, Modric, Walker etc looked tired last night, or is it only when things dont go well we blame Harry for keeping on playing them.

Just wondered if anyone thought Bale and Lennon both played well by staying on their primary flanks, and hence got assists for 3 of the 4 goals.
