They should have lost the first leg 4-1 or so and it would have been game over.
It would be soooooooooooooo unfair to Newcastle who have worked so hard and done so well all season to miss out in that way. I would hate to see that effort go unrewarded if they did get 4th.
lets not be bitter boys.
if saf had adopted the same tactics last year and the year b4 that we would possibly have 2 more CLs in our trophy cabinet. we miss carlos quieroz.
newcastle will just have to demonstrate that this year wasnt a fluke by getting 4th again next year. simples.
not that im saying this year was a fluke, but they will need to show the same level of consistency
Knee in the back when he thinks the ref isn`t looking...Mr. Niceguy he AIN`T....and as always so, so innocent!
lol.....
JT not playing in the final may actually see me want chelsea to win it.
i could stand the thought of captainfantastic winning it. he will still get a medal, though as scholesy said, its an empty victory if you watch from the sidelines.
I don't blame them for their tactics but I don't really think they were exactly genius or worthy of congratulations. It was just all hands to the pump and hope to ride out the storm. The real credit they deserve is for the sheer balls and concentration they showed. Their never say die attitude got them to the final and they refused to buckle. It is that character, moreso than tactics which I salute.
Yes, credit to Chelsea, to win over 180 minutes means you deserve it. But for all the media and fans stating it's some sort of genius tactical mission by Chelsea, Inter did it a couple of years ago. It's not pretty, it's not football, but it works. I just hope in the final they give it more of a go. For that reason Bayern might be the better final.
But if it's Real in the final then I'm with Ronnie.
