You can but doesn't mean you will end up with that player

You can if you want KLS. When all players are picked any clashes will be dealt with, and the player in question will be assigned to a random team from those choosing him. You'll then be refunded the money and given the chance to sign another player.

To be honest I tried to pick a team that nobody else has chosen so I've got a clearer idea of who will end up in my first XI.
