Gran Turismo is the best driving simulator but I reckon Burnout Paradise is the most fun. Better than any of the Need for Speeds (at least since Underground 2).

Genuine LOL at that one Wilsbowski

I agree with Super Keith that Burnout Paradise is the best choice for simple pick up and play arcade style driving. I also enjoyed Split/Second and was a bit gutted when I was told that there wasn't going to be a follow up since Disney shut down the studio that made it.

GT i've got, burnout does my head in - it's too far into the arcady genre for my liking it's just silly. nfs most wanted, with better graphics, bigger map, longer story and decent multiplayer options would be ideal
unfortunately it doesn't exist

actaully, come to think of it - i had paradise on the pc. installed it, played it for about an hour, never touched it again...

what about the new saint's row? anyone played it? any good?

I haven't played it but have heard good things from people whose opinions I respect.

I've never played any of them, but am led to believethey have a lot in common with san andreas.... which i loved.

I think GRID is the best driving game on modern consoles, because I own it
I also think Sega Rally Revo is the best rally game, because I own it

You'd be better off getting an Xbox and buying Forza Motorsport. Better than GT in my opinion.

not really an option - whatever i get needs to be available on ps3.

thinking i might try to find second hand copies of grid 2 or racedriver 2, and a second hand copy of saints row the third (cos i'm not bothered about the online with that as its only the same game but co-op)

We've moved on from racing. This a Saints Row thread now

(Sighs) Fine

Saints Row the Third is a decent game, slightly short* but a decent game anyway. Anyone that has played any other game in the series will see that they have made a number of improvements to certain areas and cut back in one or two parts that may get on the nerves of people that wanted to customise their crib etc etc.

* I mean in terms of the story mode there are a ton of side missions to keep you happy

I've never played any of them, but most reviews seem to be positive, and i loved san andreas which a few people have said they are similar to, so it's looking likely that will be one of those chosen, if i can find it second hand (i flatly refuse to buy any story game at full price, they're never worth it)

Part 2 is wonderful and while the third did make improvements it didn't have me going back to play it months and months after I had initially beat it like I did with 2

I'd definately buy Need For Speed Hot Pursuit over 'The run' it is by far the better game, however if you've never played it then Burnout Paradise is definately without a doubt the best racing game out there.

Agree with RtM I went back to play 2 but 3 quickly became a game that I would dip in and out of (Even before I had finished the story mode).

Zaph- if you are looking at a copy of Saints Row the Third for a decent price I'm sure that it will be below the £20.00 mark in a couple of trade in stores (CEX etc) as the price for the game has dropped a couple of places (Sure I saw it for £18.00 the other day on somewhere like Amazon)
