Holdsworth and you know we paid 8.2m for him cause you read The Times i take it?
Or are you on the board of directors?
We paid in access of 10m plus we threw in the amazing Braaten as well (no small mercies there then). That tallys us a 11m fee to me.
And for the comment Elmander went missing for months on end that is a load of carp mate until December when he was played as a striker he did pretty well until he was stuck out on the right wing in favour of Sturridge and then stuck into centre mid, ask yourself this question how many games did Elmander play upfront and how many did Davies play? Who scored the most goals end of discussion on that front.
Then look at the amazing result against Stoke what did Davies do there nothing he couldn't get in the game he was as much use as a screen door on a submarine.
Davies was the best in the business no doubt but for me last season he was not as potent and dangerous and faded to easily in games. I hope that is not the case this season but i doubt there is better times ahead for him from now on at this age.
out of position, and never in his favoured position.

I really don't get this as an argument, he plays in midfield for Sweden, he has also played in midfield throughout his career. Who else could we have played there?

I'm sorry but thats neither here nor there, the whole sqaud played rubbish that day. He has been instrumental in some of our best games and has won us points on his own.

Well he didn't score from a month from December to January, when he was playing, wait for it, as a striker.

Also forever, you seem to rubbish holdsworths claim because no-one knows the fee and then decide your own made up fee is correct.

Got the fee from the horses mouth Moses when the cheif executive tells you what they paid you tend not to disagree
We are 7/2 favourites to sign Robbie Keane...
I thought elmander was rubbish but I never booed him, he played upfront week in week out under Megson and couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo most of the time.
It was 8.2m plus Braaten going in opposite direction. Seeing as he was a bosman, it's 8.2m. Hey I'm not slating his work rate, he did put effort in, but if you gave me 50k a week I'd run my socks off aswell! The fact is he was nowhere near good enough or strong enough, he had glimpses of brilliance, however he was without doubt the worst piece of business Bwfc has ever done. It's all well an good saying he tried his best, but we could have signed a random championship player, given him 40k a week less and let him work hard. You don't need your most expensive player to work hard and offer little brilliance, otherwise that's a bad investment.

Elmander was actually dispossed of the ball 74 times last season, whilst Davies was 64 times.
Just saying.
I wonder sometimes if Elmander got so much stick because of who signed him?
For example Elmander, Taylor, Muamba and Ricketts all get abused by fans on most occasions could this be the fact that smeggers signed them?
Anyone ever says a bad word against SKD then the entire club rallys behind him, Davies is a top player but i think his time is coming to an end he has lost most of his pace (not that he had much) he loses the ball to easily now and stops play with all the fouls he is penalised for.
If smeggers had signed Davies would we all defend him the same?
Not an arguement this at all it is simply an observation.
I think its due to the fact they are actually frustrating players, rather than they were signed by Meggo.
Elmander was ok, however him being as expensive as was, as inconsistant as he was, so easily shoved off the ball as he was. Fans grew tired of him very quickly.
Talor again, plain fraustrating. Muamba, very fraustrating and excellant all rolled into one. Ricketts has come along alot however and i think Fans appreciate him more than dislike him. Going forward he is excellant.
