Thrown it away, not really Wilsons fault but certainly Ched chucked a spanner in the works. That draw today is very damaging.
I would say the Ched effect is the cause.
Wouldn't like to be either us or blunts having to face Stevenage in the play-offs. Neither of us have managed a win against them and I can see instant heart-break at the first hurdle.
March 3rd - League table before Rochdale away game -
Charlton - 75 points - 34 games
Blunts 65 - points - 33 games
Wednesday - 60 points - 34 games
Huddersfield - 59 points - 33 games
M.K.D. - 59 points - 33 games
..Thanking Dave Jones
Jones has done exceptionally well, beyond everyone's expectations and he could be a Wednesday leganed by 5pm on Saturday, beating the blades in what has been an epic battle that I have loved!
..Thanking Dave Jones
.And Mester Mandaric
Stevanage v Bury will be a good'un..
Bury have beat Notts County and Colchester in their last 4 games and scoring 4 in both games ( pass the Coke)..
..Notts County have Colchester in their last game at home, so it's not all over yet for the play off final position.
Its not finished yet, still 90 minutes of footy to be played but we are in the driving seat and Wycombe players will be feeling down after coming close to beating the Drop. But certainly not counting chickens..
We'll need to play better than we did on Sat - it was pretty poor from both sides, we just had a bit more luck than they did.
We definately need to win on Saturday - as has been mentioned above, must avoid Stevenage like the plague. Stevenage will beat Bury, no problem..last berth fight is over IMO.
I think they will be the team to go up form the playoffs, regardless of whether it is us or the Blades that finish third.
I'd like to see Lowe start - we a look a little toothless up front a the moment.
it isnt a given that we will beat wycombe, obviously we are massive favourites, the only thing that worries me is if they park the bus and we cant break em down.
Morning chaps - I expect you are all well, and I confess to having had better weekends. However, I would refer you to my first uninvited post to this board (thank you, one and all, for your forbearance), when I predicted that this issue would go right through to the last minute of the last game of the season.
This is still the case, and as kimmyowl rightly points out, the fat lady has not yet begun her gargle.
Full credit to Stevenage, despite two of the poxiest goals you could ever see, they were committed and organised to the point that neither Sheffield club will enjoy the play-off semi-finals.
I would also like to pay tribute to the efforts of our leading goal scorer, whose absence was more noticed at Bramall Lane than it will have been at HMP Strangeways.
Despite the title of this article, Danny Wilson was not at the top of any Blades' shopping list, but I hold my hand up and admit I was wrong - he's done a brilliant job, and got us to the play-offs playing decent football after ten+ years of watching dross.
So there we are - my bet with those nice people at William Hills may still restore the financial fortunes of the Chunderbuxton dynasty, but not necessarily in the order I would prefer.
A wonderful season, one of the best I can remember, with both clubs going like the proverbial clappers. The last ninety minutes will be absolute hell.
Lady Elspeth sends her love,

Refreshing comment Chunders .
Would agree with that, except the part about the fat lady, she's definitely warming up now but for whom will she be singing next Saturday at 4.55pm?

Nice on Chunders. You certainly are still in with a chance.
Do you really want to pay tribute to Chedley? Why ruin an interesting post with rubbish like that? I'm glad the 9th and 35th minute 'tribute' didn't seem to materialise at the Stevenage debacle.
Sorry, old chap, that's bit deep for me, I'm only a simple aristocrat, so bear with me.
I take it that irony is not your strongpoint?

Have to say your right its been a brilliant season for both Sheff clubs and I agree entirely that the lady hasnt started singing yet so im not celebrating just yet, Im still on the fence about us going up next Sat, it still could go either way IMHO, as the eternal saying goes...you never know in football!!
Not so bad thanks, old chap, despite the events of the last week or so......
Football, eh, bloody hell!

Ha, tell me about it chap, when Evans got sent down I thought that you lot wouldnt recover from it, ok no team is about one man but he got 35 goals for you this season before tasting some lumpy porridge and it has knocked the stuffing out of you despite Didwell saying it hasnt affected the players, it has IMHO and I know that Stevenage and McDonalds were tough games, its funny that you lose a game then draw the other as soon as he got sent down, it couldnt have happened at a worse time for you.
Us on the other hand have hit form at just the right time to make the push for promotion and i was convinced that when we appointed DJ we would have to hold out for the play off's given the form you was in but he has done an amazing job of getting us to within a win of promotion.
UTO
Regretfully, I have to agree with you, but I would have been a lot more concerned if they'd chucked their hand in after shipping those two goals - made for a good second half, and another few minutes would have tipped it our way.
Porter and O'Halloran was a mistake, but pressure makes idiots of us all, whatever we do. What's done is done, and the last 90 minutes of the season will be a bit of a knicker-wetter.
Or, as Elspeth has charmingly just told me "the Sheffield sewers simply will not cope!"
Chunders
Sorry Chunders - I was a bit slow there
No problem, old chap.

Wow a Sheffield United fan on JA606, a rare sight.
Well spotted, old chap, well spotted....
