Madrid of the 50's 60's AC Milan, Ajax, sure this Barca team can be brought into the debate.
it has been earned.

Definitely should be bought into the debate but there are other clubs who seem to be getting dismissed far too easily IMO.

They are definitely up there.

From what I have seen, my personal favourites are the Milan later 80s team, the 1970 Brazil team and the 70s Ajax team

Some other greats (people may disagree with these):

Real Madrid - late 50s
Man Utd - mid/late 60s
Ajax - early/mid 70s
Bayern Munich - mid 70s
Liverpool - 80s
AC Milan - late 80s / early 90s
Man Utd - late 90s

Barcelona are up there with the best, definitely. THE best is a matter of opinion.

Other clubs that have a claim to be on this list are the Santos and Benfica of the 60s, Ajax mid 90s, Real Madrid Galacticos (though more of a collection of great players than a great team) and Arsenal's Invincibles.

Because the majority of football fans weren't around to witness those teams. Things are always better when you can see them yourself, rather than go by someone else's opinions/stats/old photos and video clips.

I didn't see these old sides but I still acknowledge how great they were. I'm sure a decent portion of the media saw these sides as well.

Barcelona are brilliant though.

This Barcelona team are by far the best in my memory, but I'm too young to know about most of the others.

Madrid 50s
Liverpool 70s-80s
Milan 80s-90s

Same Nani, I'm only 17 so Barcelona are by far the best team I've seen during my life.

Are Barcelona any better than the Spanish International side? Do not mock me, this is a genuine point. The strength in depth of that national team is phenomenal. Perhaps the only difference is Messi.

Maybe, maybe

It's an opinion but by most that MILAN team was outstanding and would give the current Barca team a proper game.
World Class players in every position.
Gullit, Van Basten, Rijkaard, Ancelloti, Maldini, Baresi, Costacurta, Tassotti, Colombo, Evani, Galli.

Sacchi's Milan = Greatest club side ever

Personally, I don't think that the defenders these days are as good as they were 20years ago. Then again, tackling is rarer these days too, through fear of bookings.

Not sure about Madrid in the 50s, wasn't that during Franco's reign where they had a lot of decisions go their way and Barca were penalised against?

Madrid won the European Cup 5 times (I think it was 5, I may be wrong) in a row in the late 50s. The Busby Babes faced them and Sir Bobby Charlton conceded that they were a brilliant side. They had the likes of Di Stefano, Puskas and Gento back then.

Arsenal in the 30's and 40's. Were it not for the war we'd have had five more titles.

I disagree with this 100%. The problem is that tackles that were seen as tough but fair then would get a booking or even a red card now. It used to be you could make a tackle and go through a player as long as you got the ball first, not anymore though.

Best was the Real Madrid of the late 50s for me. Won something like the first 5 European Cups, and featured players like Di Stefano and Puskas.
