A handful of players...

I'd take McGugan, Rodriguez, Kightly and Hammill from that bunch. Smithies might make a decent back-up keeper I guess. Can't see any of them happening though...

Come on home Heskey!!!

McGugan is contracted until 2013
Cunningham is not available on a free either, Forest are trying to get him back next season on a year long loan

I think if all of these don't want to resign for their club or aren't offered a new contract, we'd have a decent chance of attracting a fair few.

I'd approach Koren, McGugan, Steven Davies, Rodriguez and Kightly.

In theory I also think the following could be useful additions as squad players, but we won't approach them for various reasons:

Cunningham - won't want to be back-up
Smithies - won't want to be back up
K. Davies - will want too much money/may not want to drop down

Thanks Trent,

I expected the free agents like to have a couple of errors. I guess it includes players who may be availble on loan re: cunningham and must have just been a simple discrepancy with regard to Lewis.

*free agents list

I don't like the look of half the names on that list for a variety of reasons, much of the other half would be a "we'll give them a try". None look exciting to me.

Except Emile...

True Dungeon, but the exciting signings would be ones that would cost several million.

I think as free agents, there is at least a couple on that list worth bringing in.

Simeon Jackson stands out for me, none of the other players on that list add much/anything to our squad imo

Although i do keep reading rumours that NP has bid for Koren.

I like Dyer, but surely either of Kightly or Davies would add to our squad with regard to width?

I like Dyer but i do think that Dyer is an impact player. Someone you can bring on after 60 minutes who's got the pace and dribbling ability to make theoppositions defence think He can run at opposition defences and you'd imagine their wingbacks would think twice about wandering too far upfield.

* but i agree that davies would be a good signing

Kevin Davies - Would he be motivated by coming to a Championship club? Or would he become another flop looking for a pay day?

Kieran Dyer - Absolutely not. The man's a nightmare in the training room and constantly injured. I can't think why we'd even contemplate having him.

Robert Koren - A good player, but isn't he starting to get on a bit now? I fear we'd get a declining talent.

Lewis McGugan - Even if he was available, most of the Forest supporters I know seem to suggest that he's basically a lazy Andy King.
