Retirement for H or end of our FA nightmare

Possibly both, or neither.

It would be interesting to see what he would do with the £50m transfer kitty Levy reportedly offered him.

Anyone think Levy might fire him if we don't reach Champions League?

posted on 1/5/12

I think Levy respects Harry enough that it will never come down to being fired, they would both "agree" its time to move on if we fail to get into the CL this season

With the club reportedly unwilling to offer him a new deal he has to go either way IMO - we need stability.

A younger, talented manager like AVB, Martinez or Rodgers could build a proper team with a plan. Unless you've got oil baron money you need a long-term strategy.

He won't retire and Levy won't sack him. He's been successful with us, DL is hardly gonna rip all of that up. If we don't qualify he'll pick up the pieces and start again next year. It amazes me how so many spurs fans think a 2 month blip is enough to get rid of our manager. If we win tomorrow we will be 1 point off 3rd, which would be our best ever PL finish.

AVB.............. ,

No thanks

"If we win tomorrow we will be 1 point off 3rd, which would be our best ever PL finish."

PL top 4 has always been the primary goal.
If that is not achieved, regardless of what happens in Munich, Redknapp has failed.

If top 4 is achieved and Chelsky do us via the CL, questions should still be asked given the slump at the same stage for 2 seasons running.

Fridgeboy I've seen a lot of your posts and happen to agree you. Now I can understand the critism that Harry gets but why would we want him to leave. Some people amaze me that getting a new manager would solve everything and yet we have been doing that for the last 20 years and where has that got us! Harry gets us into the champs league for the first time with us playing great football along the way, has a little blip not surprising due to the england/trial/heart scare fiasco and the fans want rid. Most footy experts and fans were predicting 5th or 6th at the start of the season and 6th is now the worst possible case scenario!

someone mentioned last night that due too health and family reasons...

harry might be about too retire...

If that 2 month blip is the manager's fault it's only right he goes.

Bales left foot: what was your honest prediction at the start of the season where spurs would finish?

posted on 1/5/12

not directed at me...but start of season...i had us roughly where we are now...

but too ultimately miss out on top 4......

Junction then you can't be too disappointed with Harry then.

burghandy : I honestly didn't predict. With the signings of Ade and Parker I thought we could beat Arsenal in the league.

During AVB's tenure at Chelsea I thought we'd finish well clear of them.

Then Capello resigned.

I think the problem is we didn't add real quality in jan but i think that's was more levy's fault not allowing Harry spending any money.

posted on 1/5/12

If only we knew who made those decisions burghandy.

Levy let him sell Pav, but not spend any of it?

posted on 1/5/12

With Arsenal losing fab & nasri i thought we would finish top 4 no problem and above them

Harry has won 1 trophy in 18 yrs, hardly Fergi is he

posted on 1/5/12

Weare I think you were the very few who did then as they had a forum that I think you can still see on the bbc of phil mcnulty and hundreds of fans predictions for the season and hardly anyone said we would be in the top four so you must be a massive optimist!

posted on 1/5/12

To be fair though burghandy our season didn't start till the transfer window closed - it's a bit unfair to judge expectations when we didn't have Parker or Ade, and we did have a sulking Modric.

.. How often are the punits right

but at the end of the day it does not matter, we were 11 points clear and have collapsed for the second season running, i dont mind losing a few but being second bottom of the league for last 10 games is not exceptable

If we had spent the right money on the right players last summer i believe our squad could of challenged for the title but we messed up big time
