Once you reach 1000 followers, it's easy to get more. Everything you tweet gets retweeted and people just see that you've got lots of followers so they just follow you for the sake of it.

That is true

But I've had this account for a few years now so reaching the amount of followers I have isn't a huuge achievement imo.

I had one other account that I had to shut down. 800 followers including the some verified Fox News presenter, Liverpool Football Club verified again

No no no no.... lol not in that way haha. I closed it down. It was a general account created for parody purposes you know...spouting rubbish about X Factor on Saturday nights and that sort. I closed it down via settings. Got bored of it quickly. Thought I'd stick to my Arsenal account.
