New club in third. No other way. If SPL clubs vote us back in as newco, it'll do too much damage to Scottish football. Best to start again, take the pain for the next few seasons, before coming back and re invigorating Scottish football.

Zilla,

Ipad/Iphone smiley's.

Ya big 💩

Oldco or newco, they'll be in the SPL next season because £600K is the price of integrity in Scottish football.

Cruising,

I'd prefer you stayed in the SPL with sanction for a few years.
Got to have the derby.

Germageddon!!

I fully expect a wee man in a sombre suit, Burberry mac, brown brogues and green, white and orange argyll socks to bound up the marble staircase flanked by a platoon of be-pilot jacketed Sherriffs officers, waving a Warrant singing "My Way"...

I can't speak for Rangers, but I know what should happen for Scottish football. They should go down to the third.

Now before anyone says it, yes it will hurt the SPL teams. And it'll hurt them bad.

And to those SPL teams I say - tough. Deal with it. That includes my own club.

For too long we've lived off the Old Firm, sucked at their teat and did whatever they told us all for the tv deal that's slowly killing the game and the 4 visits a year. We need to get out of that vicious cycle of dependence. We're like a bunch of junkies who get sent out whoooring to sky to earn our keep, when we all know that we have no choice in it whatsoever.

Take the hit, learn to stand on our own feet and then Scottish football can move on.

The cycle of dependency must die.

Dalriada, there would be far too much bad feeling if we went straight back into the SPL after liquidation. Fewer Rangers fans would attend, and other SPL club attendances would suffer as the protests take hold. The bad blood wouldn't be worth it. Best to seek our redemption in the third.

Bhoyzilla,

They are a series of faces getting angrier and angrier followed by a punch.

Better in smiley mode, obviously.

CA

The bad blood would be tempered by the loss of income, and the danger of other SPL clubs going under. Can you imagine Yorkston (and even Romanov) contemplating their budgets without the TV money.

..............

That's harsh, I'd be in favour of a coupla punctures and removal of the saddle.

I'm starting to believe that Rangers will not exist in any form next season.

It might take a season to sort out all the mess when it finally hits the fan big time.

Cruising,

But the financial fallout with the SPL clubs (except the champs) would be far worse. Their ability to function is based (not solely) on Celtic & Rangers coming to town, whereas 3rd Div. Clubs don't already benefit.
It's almost catch 22, but i would be annoyed if the derby was gone for 3 (dependent on automatic promotion) years.

I'd rather go to third division. Its whats right, and I wouldn't miss the derby.

I would like them to be allowed back into the Spl, once they liquidate...

Such fun

Nah to be honest even if we win, its not an enjoyable experience. The nerves are far too much

posted on 2/5/12

Why don't they just change their allegiance to say Motherwell or Kilmarnock, let Rangers die and bring another club up from the 1st Div. There you are, easy peasy.

Don't worry lads The Rangers will come out of this nightmare smelling of roses.
