its not out of our hands though is it, we need to do what we did at the start of the season like when we beat arsenal 8-2 and beat bolton 5-0 which was +11 goal difference. We are 8 behind and if city win similar way to swansea and sunderland.

Freak result against a poor AFC Side - not happening again!

I have given up hope to be honest. I can't see City messing it up twice. They already let us in a few months ago. Doubt they will be so careless this time.

However....if they draw and we win, the title certainly won't be over. We would have to go to Sunderland and win which is never easy.

Also, the way we have played in last few weeks, 2 wins seems rather unlikely, although obviously not impossible.

It is still City's to lose rather than ours to win.

I can't see Newcatle beating City, we had our chance and blew it big time. City did crack but as soonas we went 8 clear they thought it was gone and started playing with no preasure. I know Newcastle are going for fourth but I can't see them getting anything, city won't set ou like we did on Monday thye'll go all out for the early goals and the way they're playing just now they will win, and then QPR is a mere formality

QPR will be raped

Exactly the way I feel. On Monday night / Tuesday morning, I accepted the title had gone.

People are setting themselves up for another disappointment. I won't even be watching it. And at 3.15, I'll leave for United as per usual.

It would be great if they did drop points but I'm expecting them to win it now.

We bottled it, plain and simple. Could have gone to the City game needing a win or even a draw to secure the title, instead went in with 3 ahead and lost.

Agreed 85. I shall be heading out to OT, stopp off for a couple of beers on the way and enjoy the last game of the season.

There are only two chances of city slipping up, slim and none and slim left town on Monday

I wasn't that down about it after game to be honest with you. I'm usually gutted when we lose to Berties or the scousers. Probably because deep down I knew we deserved nothing

posted on 3/5/12

Well said 85, it was clear we did not set up to win and for that we deserve our just deserts, but still, seeing Newcastle allows me to hope, (if just a little)...

i'm just looking forward to going to old trafford for the last time this season and watching a game of football with no pressure on united.

Yea I can understand there is still some hope left with some people due to Newcastle being a good team now, in good form, going for the CL and it's their last home game of an impressive season.

One side of me thinks whoever finishes top after 38 games deserves it but the other part of me, in some sadistic way, wants us to finish second now after Monday. Because we haven't been good enough for a while now. Last season we only won 5 PL away matches and were very fortunate to win the title. This season we haven't been that great either.

Even though we have kept competitive in the PL, Madrid, Barca and Bayern have left us way behind. I wouldn't fancy us to beat any of those sides at the moment, home or away. 4 years ago we could beat all of them.

The way this season has gone I would not be surprised if Newcastle got a resuly against City only for us to blow it at Sundreland.

Yeah Vidcshchin - Agree!

I don't see it being won on goal difference, put it that way.

One of us is going to drop points.

I have to agree, I wasn't gutted because as soon as I saw the team sheet I knew we'd lost.

I am gutted though that we have lost the title to City, my mates (most of whom are city fans) have been emailing me all week, they know it's in the bag. Bobby M can say what he likes but he knows deep down they have it.

Agree with VC actually. I have said all season long, I dont want to be going into the Sunderland game needing a win to clinch the title.

..................

We haven't lost it yet. If City win at Newcastle, we will have.

Yea true but.....after Monday night you'd take that now wouldn't you? A win at Sunderland would guarantee you the title?

Still can't see City dropping points now though. It is almost there for them now.

Why are you all so resigned to losing it?
A draw at Newcastle at any other time of the season would be a reasonable result for us, very tricky.
You dont all have to play mind games on here, i doubt very much that Roberto gets on this site.
Or does he?

Definitely. But I dont agree with the point made in the OP about this weekend deciding the title. If City slip up, we still have a massive job to do at Sunderland.

I think a lot of United fans just dont want to get their hopes up.

I can easily see them dropping points at Newcastle. Not sure how anyone can not see that.
