goal line technology should come, tottenham chelsea and now liverpool chelsea goaline technology could have prevented any controversy.

Yep, ball didn't go completely over the line, that was there for all to see.. Don't know why Townsend said he thought that it did

Chelsea
Officials

Good effort Liverpool, maybe next year will be your year.

And yes, the ball wasn't fully over the line.

I want to see the view with the shadow. I thought the chelsea tottenham game the same.

Goaline technology will come next season and I can't wait for it. Finally no more dodgy decisions about balls going over the line or not.

Completely agree with the OP and first 2 comments.

Townsend was so biased in his commentary. It was cringeworthy. Mikel caught Gerrard late and he rolled like he had been shot. Mikel gets caught, he does the same.

Townsend says, he made a meal of it. What a jackass

Townsend is an absolute muppet. Why did he seem to think every player on the pitch was left-footed?

"It was a good touch by Drogba to bring it onto his stronger left foot"

"Skrtel just tried to get the ball onto his strong left foot"

I know for a fact Drogba isnt left footed. Pretty sure Skrtel isnt either.

Also why was Townsend so unsure over the Carroll header, clearly wasn't all over

They were almost perfect
the no-card on Mikel was even right, since it was a 50-50 ball

ITV's coverage is like listening to an idiot who's watching it in a pub.

The ball was confirmed as over the li e by computerised replays. However the referee cannot be blamed for that, he could never have seen it. He needed help but unfortunately football lags behind other sports on terms of technology.

He put in a decent performance and there were only two examples I can remember when he made a mistake - booking Agger for winning the ball and awarding a free kick against Gerrard when he won the ball. Other than that a good performance from Dowd.

Carroll is a for not simply tapping the ball into the net.
