ITV's coverage is like listening to an idiot who's watching it in a pub.
The ball was confirmed as over the li e by computerised replays. However the referee cannot be blamed for that, he could never have seen it. He needed help but unfortunately football lags behind other sports on terms of technology.
He put in a decent performance and there were only two examples I can remember when he made a mistake - booking Agger for winning the ball and awarding a free kick against Gerrard when he won the ball. Other than that a good performance from Dowd.
Carroll is a for not simply tapping the ball into the net.
