If rangers are not sanctioned in a way whereby they are heavily punished and not allowed to remain in the spl, it will send out the wrong message to all clubs who have large debts. Imagine it, a club has 20m of debt, they go into liquidation and re-invent the club, all for a small points deduction and 1yr not buying any players.
I'm sure many of today's chairmen would think this would be a risk worth taking if they could clear their debts in this way.
Rangers must be severely punished for this if they go down the liquidation/newco route. They are the ones who have allowed themselves to get into this situation by not paying tax etc, let them suffer in the lower leagues for a couple of years and send out the message to other clubs that this type of financial behaviour will not be tolerated.

arab - will you still say that if your Chairman says yes to keeping Rangers in the SPL with no penalties?

The SPL have no powers to impose further sanctions on Rangers, according to their own legal advisers, should they vote to allow Rangers share to bectransferref to a newco

Further, the upcoming vote of 12SPL club on any sanction on SPL clubs who forms newco will not get passed due to the implications that it will hurt their other 10 non OF clubs more.

Finally, Rangers have been heavily pop unused with 10pys deduction, a£160k fine, a transfer embargo and no European football for 3 years.

This is more Thant any other club that went into Admin in Scottish football

Just how much more punitive would you like to be ?

We may be down but were not out. Any further sanctions would not only be unfair but would be I'll advised. And well the other SPL clubs know. The RST have already promised retaliatory sanctions should there be any further attempt to hurt Rangers.

Rhe sPL needs rangers. Without it, it becomes much less commercially viable.

See the sun also. All the other SPL chairmen are bricking it.

They need us alot more than we need them. Fact.

Team on its knees

The likes of McGregor and Whittaker earn more than any United player even AFTER taking a 75% wage cut

McGregor, Whittaker, Goian, Bocanegra, Edu, McCulloch all full internationals with a large amount of caps between them (dont' know if Kerkar has been capped, probably not).

United have Pernis on a couple and Kenneth () and Robertson on 1 each.

And you weren't saying that when we pumped you out the cup, or beat you in the league.

This was my view on Friday, and I stand by it:

In an ideal world the state of the other clubs should not be a consideration here. To be blunt, fluck them. They have made their own beds by becoming utterly reliant on the Old Firm to function. This cycle of dependancy has to end. The other clubs have to learn how to prosper without being reliant on the old firm.

That means relegation to the third for every club that goes newco.

Will it mean pain for the other clubs, including my own? Undoubtedly. Will some face the same fate as Rangers? Probably. But that's from their own actions and I would expect no sympathy if United go into admin because of this.

Maybe it would be better to have a quick death than the slow painful death that the status quo would ensure.

They have no powers to relegate anyone. Deal with it. You depend on us. End of.

Quoting the Daily Record as fact

It's in all the media.

Do you dispute it or not ? They ate bricking it. Yer chairman cant wait to approve a newco quick enough.

He is only interested in Sky/ESPN money and gate receipts from OF games.

We effectively own you more than we own ourselves

We dont depend on you, what planet are you on, you lot depend on the rest of the teams in the spl, where would you be without the rest of the teams?

Not only do you quote the record but you even ask us to have a look at the sun, says a lot about you if thats the papers you read!!!

Esc - why are you wasting your time on here when there are so many unsolved crimes in Glasgow?

No shitsherlock. The SPL was formed as a money grabbers society. Self preservation was always the order of the day. It's what all the clubs are about.

Doesn't make it right though and doesn't mean that we, the supporters, can't make a stand against it.

At least we can take the blinkers off and look at things objectionately, something you can't seem to do.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a game to go to.

Whether u like it or not they two rags represent the most of the sporting media in hard copy.

We don't need any of you. The current sanctions imposed on us for the next 3years penalize us to the extent that our commercial interests are already seriously damaged for those 3years.

If we dropped to 3rd division, the additional hit would not be such a great hit financially. We still have a huge fan base that would support turnover.

Your club on the other hand cannot survive in its current form without the SKY/ESPN deal in it's current form or both OF teams visiting twice a season. Neither of those are on the table with us in div 3

Either way it's a moot point. The SPL have no powers to demote us. Neither do they want to cut their own throats.

As much as it may gaul you, the simple fact is u need us. Accept it. Fact

5-0 against a div 3 side
