I hope we finish the season in style

I think we need to invest in 4 players. Two centre mids, a left back and a striker to replace Berba. Don't know any names, but Kagawa is apparently coming so he can fill 1/2 of the CM signings.

Agree with Arab. Ideally they are the 4 positions we need to be seriously addressing this season. My only fear is that if Paul Scholes does decide to stay for another season [It gives me nothing but joy if he did], then I can only see one midfielder coming in. However, if Anderson, Cleverley and Darren Fletcher all return, would we even bother buying a midfielder?

It's funny it's our weakest position yet we have so many players there

Scholes
Carrick
Anderson
Fletcher
Pogba
Cleverley

Some players will have to go to make room.

I reckon Scholes will retire AGAIN.

Pogba is off I reckon.

Fletch may not come back the same player. His condition is with him for life. There is no cure.

Cleverley.....Can he stay fit? he's been plagued by injuries since the age of 14

Anderson is as good as gone in my opinion. Won't be missed either.

so many players that are either injury prone or not good enuf

what we need most is a an athelitic defensive mid. All those players are very good but none can be classed as a master at what they do excluding scholes.

It's been confirmed today by the manager that Giggs and Scholes will remain at the club for another season and with Fletcher possibly returning for pre-season, I'm getting that old feeling that we won't be signing a new midfielder in the summer.

I hope to God that I'm reading too much into that though.

If we don't improve the midfield.....I'll be gobsmacked.

We haven't signed a midfielder for 5 years. Anderson was the last one.

I still remember how shocked. Had my first University exam, and before I left my flat and saw Man United signed Anderson and Nani, and kept wondering how we kept it so quiet.

After their first season, had ridiculously high hopes for them both. They have never disappointed me, and Nani has been reaching potentials we always knew he had, shame with Anderson his injuries have held him back so much.

Anderson isn't that good when he actually plays. Incredibly overrated.

A 37 yr old Paul Scholes, 6 months retired, has scored more goals since he returned in January than Anderson has managed in 5 seasons at United.

He'll be sold this summer anyway. Not good enough and never fit either.

I've been saying the same thing for 2-3 summers now. It just honestly would not surprise me if we don't.

.........
Same, I was at Uni, 2nd year actually. That was the last time we actually made several good signing. Also signed Hargreaves and Tevez that summer, the result the following season, PL and CL double. So could do with a summer like that this time.

I remember that day well. It was very exciting. It was in the evening when the news broke on Sky Sports News about Anderson and then Nani.

There were rumours floating about that we were interested in Nani and then when I heard that Sir Alex and David Gill were in Portugal, I thought that it was only a matter of time until the deal was done however the Anderson deal had been announced first and then the Nani deal shortly after. It was a crazy evening.

and we signed Hargreaves the same summer, looked at the time to be 3 great signings.
