cardiff have never got started.. west ham playing with a big, quick target man and having midfielders following the ball up..
win the first ball if you can, definitely win the second...have at least one midfielder going past the ball in the opponents half..
take their midfield back with you...
big sams simple approach after getting the right personnel on the pitch..

Jacko, if we were going to be a bit more conservative as you suggest I'd leave Rhodes on the bench and play the same team as played against Yeovil. I'd rather have 4-5-1 with Higgy and Ward attacking that 4-4-2 but with only one real creative outlet.

terrier..
i dont see it as more conservative.. two strikers with nobody else is still two blokes..
the system with higgy allows other players to get involved further up the pitch.. the more players we have in their half with or without the ball the better for me.. for all the previous reasons given before..

What Amazes me is why many of you seem so bedazzled by Novak .. He's Ordinary .. Thats it .. Hardworking but Ordinary ~ Had Jordan been the recipient of so much Quality Ball in the first sixty last Sat we'd have been 4 up .. Simple as ..

It follows then that Novak will be the one to make way for Higgy with Rhodes around him .. That will allow for the Johnson and Dusty Miller Combination to stay in place which was so successful for both Attack AND Defence on Sat .. My We've Waited So Long to see that .. .. The relief on Normally Emotionless Larrys Face Was Almost Palpable

Why Wouldn't that be Graysons Starting Line up on Saturday .. He's so heavily hung up on having Experienced players around the Back & Mid in order to do what he seems to cherish most (hold onto the ball) and there'll be no way he'll change that ..

Up Top ~ No doubts in my mind he'll Vary The Players to suit how he sees the game as it works thru .. But 1st two names on the sheet for me are J Rhodes and K Higginbotham ~ Lee Novak sits on the bench & waits his moment .. He'll get it ..

Ah ~ All This Stuff Can look So Good & appear So Easy on paper ..

Btw: I can't for the life in me see why none of you are picking up on several dropped in post comments by me for Yeovils out of contract (I believe) Player Andrew Williams who IS (for me) Everything Novak is not .. I've got good reason to believe he's Most Strongly on Towns radar ..

if he plays higgy/rhodes, higgy will be spent by half time, thats why.. you have to hit rhodes everytime.. novak can chase it and bother people, jordan sometimes runs in their shadow...
you can make a good case for either but if mk are up for it and we are "carrying" a player it will show up badly..
if absoulutely neccessary, higgy in for ward and play with rhodes/novak up front, but i think thats more a second leg choice, dependant on the score... me and grayson are different in that respect, i would pick my team to try and win both legs, whatever the score in the first leg..
think back to very big games and remember how many goals jordan scored in them...I think he could score goals against a tiring mk dons defence, but we need to run them and tire them first..they need chasing and worrying, he just wont do it, we all know it.. home leg is a different story, he may well get more room and time.. he might also have alan lee up with him depending on whats gone on before..

Same starting eleven as saturday for me,, Bring Rhodes and Lee on if neccasary,,, Rhodes will be gone seasons end,, Novak will be our main striker next season, Larry wont pap himself and play one up top nor do i think he will go gung ho,, Arfield in front of Ja ckHunt again and keep Lewington wondering cos he doesnt have the pace to match Hunt.

Has Diego gone ?? I dont recall reading that he was available for the play offs,,, Very dissapointing,, Has Pulis been hoodwinked, Someone certainly made a packet on Diego and you can bet your bottom dollar his old club will not have recieved anywhere near the transfer fee,, South American clubs never do.

Bootsy ...Andy Williams...going for a song ?

As for Novak...well if he's just a workhorse, with 17 goals thus far, he'll do for me..plus is he top goal assist too ?

At the 'end of the day'...it's how we play on the day, as individuals and collectively...and whatever 11 start the game..I just want to see loads of effort and something like we can perform, because as I've said before, when we play to our potential, no one in this league can beat us..

How many did we take to Bury? Surely we will get more for a PLAY-OFF SEMI FINAL!

Who would go to Bury and not go to the semi by choice (personal circumstances excepted of course.)
