He would be a decent squad signing but not for £25million. Hes not even a guarenteed starter for Everton...

What about tiote?

At least you didnt suggest rodwell.

But seriously 25 mil for him, have a laugh. Not particually amazing.

Makes you wonder why didnt go for toure.

Toure to Man City this year was what Essien was for Chelsea back when they won the title under Mourinho, an absolute powerhouse in midfield.

He is also very skilful for such a large player.

i think he's easily worth 25. really good player

So who else can do that job that we should be after?

For the left back position we could buy Álvaro Pereira and for the midfield position we could get Fernando Francin sco Reges, who also plays for porto. The guy is an aboslute beast; did you watch him vs city? The way he handled yaya

I genuinely think he is a very good player and would suit us most. Tiote would be very good however he is still a bit small whereas Fellaini is tall and imposing! He is worth 25 million and the thing is he can improve. Very skillful for a tall player, like Toure. These players are invaluable in my opinion.

Whether he's the best player we could sign up I don't know but I've admired Fellaini ever since he joined Everton. Strong, classy, intelligent. There was a debate about him maybe a couple of months ago in which a number of our fans dismissed him as 'not United class'. I wonder whether his MOTM performance in the heart-breaking 4-4 game changed any minds.

Yeah defo think we need a fellaini/Toure type player, never gonna pay 25 mill for him though? Hope theres other targets available. I get a feeling though were still gonna be seeing Scholes and Giggs in midfield next season

I like fellaini. Big and skillful is a really good combination in midfield.

Good article, well reasoned and well put.

I've always liked Fellaini. Technically good, good understanding of the game and used to the physical aspect of the PL. I would be happy if we bought him, he would give us something different in CM and a good tactical option when we're looking for a goal could be to push him further up like City do with Toure. I actually think we'd be able to get him for less than £25m, though he might actually be worth that much.

I believe there are many better players out there though.

Good article. I like the idea of getting Felaini, but the price quotes is too steep. Think we could do better if we're going to spend £25m.

Fellaini isn't bad and would be worth looking into at a decent price. Don't rate Tiote. He is so limited and is a red card waiting to happen with his tendency to dive into tackles he can't win.

That is 606 for you, he would walk into our team alongside Carrick imo.

Did SAF not recentnly say we would only be buying 2 or 3 young players though?

i've been saying this for 2 years now. Fellani or Tiote would be perfect for us.
