Kev Doyle, he has acute ring sting after Karl Henry took exception to his guitar based unplugged version of the BeeGee's classic Night fever
James McCarthy.
The squad is exactly as expected.
McCarthy would have at least made the standby list, but Trap couldn't select him because of the personal circumstances.
McCarthy's statement:
"I have made the difficult decision to withdraw my name from selection for the Euro 2012 squad following the diagnosis of my father with cancer and on-going requirement for treatment."
Can't really blame him now, can we?
Nope, life is far too short. Good luck to his dad and his entire family.
Best of luck to McCarthy and his family
I hope to god we don’t get any injuries. Has anyone else seen the ‘standby’ list?
Keogh
Green
McShane
Tough on Mc Carthy my own Da died from cancer a few years ago. Posting and having the craic with people on the old Bbc 606 site at the time helped me cope. Back to the squad it looks like Traps has finally got over his obsession with Mc Shane and Greene! That said what the hell is O'Dea doing there!

................................................................................
As a Leeds fan I can vouch that he has been dreadfully inconsistent this season and no one rates him, though many Leicester fans would say exactly the same about St Ledger and he's our first choice centre back
Darren O'Dea will be without a club come June 1st.
Shop window time.
O'Dea is an accident waiting to happen! He switches off far too much to be considered for International Football!
O'dea is pure mince and I can say this as a Leeds and Celtic fan.
That said come on Ireland, I hope McClean shines for us, I get the feeling he will
Would any of you prefer if we had Ciaren Clark instead of O'Dea, he can play in defence and midfield
I thought Clark would feature more prominently when I first saw him play for Ireland. Would have had him over O'Dea personally. Would also have been nice to see Hoolahan get involved but Trap isn't the greatest fan of creativity.
The squad is what it is and I have no doubt they'll give it everything in the Euros.
Obviously Clark does not "hav a da right Mentalatity" for Trappatoni!
