This isnt a rumour more of a guess, but i saw on skysports that Tranmere defender David Buchanan could be a target. He was their Player of the year and he is out of contract and mulling over a new deal, apprently there is championship interest i think he is 26 but he is a left back so with his age it would be a free transfer.
More ridiculous rumours unlikely to have any basis:
Bailey to Ipswich
Return of Lionel Ainsworth to Derby
Bailey could be a potential departure.
Ainsworth would only be possible if we change the way we play,we don't use wingers.Although if Ben Davies goes to Bournemouth(rumoured when we were linked to Pugh) that could change.
I'll stick Buchanen and Bailey in, but Ainsworth is ridiculous, surely, - he barely got in Burton's team when he went there on loan!
Don't shoot the messenger!
He had some issues at Shrewsbury this year, apparently of the hostelry-visiting variety, which is why he was loaned out in the first place. When I have seen him play this season he has been a reasonable threat in an occasional sort of way.
So I also consider it v. unlikely, it's just one that I heard. I suspect it might be Jacobs first, if not him then Pugh, maybe part-ex with Addison. Perhaps Ainsworth is one down the list of possible wide players who we might consider if other avenues fail. Probabaly a lot of the rumours which don't come to fruition are of this sort - general enquiries of availability and likely wages required which often end up not being pursued. I guess if you are looking for a certain type of player you compile a list with your preferred at the top, but having others as possibilities.
Well put, you've convinced me, he's in!!
On a different topic (sorry):
@Vidal
It's the end of an era - Mr Sassoon is no longer with us.

"...Forgot to add, we are in talks with premier leagues clubs for a friendly at pride park... "
It's going to be bl00dy Stoke again isn't it
... Stoke's definition of a 'friendly':
" we'll only put one of your squad out for the season "
Its going to be Sunderland...

@derbycountyblog Possibly, although the pre-season programme was sorted a while ago, and the Jacobs move is far from a done deal.
Colin Bloomfield @ColinBloomfield
Just to clarify - Steve Davies has another year left on his contract at Derby so he remains at the club.
Colin Bloomfield @ColinBloomfield
@Chrissjudd Don't think so - pre season was sorted a while ago but only released today. Clough still wants him but not a done deal.

Yes, tragic news. All we have left are the wonderful memories.
The day Julie Ege died, all we had left were the wonderful mammaries.

But can we shoot the feckin author. Own up to starting this rediculous rumour Vidal.
Could be a 'supersub' next season... aren't they going back to 7 subs or is it my imagination?!
Just to confirm Mason Bennett going nowhere! Source uncle Tosh
Sunderland's a good shout for the prem friendly
Have also heard that Ainsworth is going to Rotherham!
Bit more likely I think. I hereby withdraw my Ainsworth rumour and replace it with.....
Joel Lynch
Ian Black from Hearts - some fella (a Hearts fan) at work reckons so it must be true
Keep em coming... looks like we're running a squad of 50+ next season
Jay Mac released by Barnsley and Crawley release Pablo Mills.
Rob Hulse will stay at QPR if they're relegated. Possible move to Wolves if QPR stay up.
AJ - Jay Mac is signing for Swindon. I'd like to see Matt Richie and Aiden Flint sign for us from Swindon. Wide right sided attacking player and commanding centre half.
