The worrying thing for me is this, I don't think Fergie has the greatest track record at signing successful CMs.
Some managers are ebtter than others at spotting gems for certain positions. Fergie is great at signing wingers, strikers and even CBs but CMs, I dont think so
Djembea, Kleberson, Veron, even Anderson are our most recent big CM signigns and they have all failed to overly impress. Keane is the only top CM I can remember Fergie signing, certainly in the last 15 years or so
Carrick?
Seems underrated by a lot of utd fans
Top notch player who I would mould the England team round
To be fair, Veron was a quality player but just didn't produce it enough for us, he'd actually be the ideal signing for us now. Plus for the most part, he hasn't had to sign CM's. Keane and Scholes were the partnership for years and they were always going to be a nightmare to replace.

Carrick and Barry have had good seasons. When you are Manchester UNited and Manchester CIty's number 1 CM (along with Y.Toure) all season, you must be doing something right,
The enxt England manager would be wise to have these 2 sitting in front of the back 4. We owuld be difficult to break down with 4 defenders and 2 holding mids protecting them.

Criminally, I think some of our fans expect to much, Carrick is a very classy player and would benefit from having a more exotic sounding name.
The enxt England manager

Silly me, of course we know who the next England manager is already don't we. Guess it jsut goes to show how underwhelmed I feel at the appointment of Woy
yet despite all these so called errors, United are only 2nd on goal diff.

Hodgson usually builds his team on a solid defence, and usually has two midfielders that protect the back four. We could see Barry and Carrick come to fruition.
A) Agree with the rotation of the Manchester City game, but overall, because of the squad rotation it plays a huge reason why we are always better in the second half of the season. Our players are far fresher.
B) Bang on. For the life of me I can't understand freezing out our top scorer at all.
C) Bang on too. I remember saying last week, I think Sir Alex spent more time trying to justify to people that Phil Jones is going to be this great player, than anything. He's a Centre-Back so he should be competing for that position. Evans has worked hard to be where he is, he didn't just get places thrown at him to make up his appearances.
D) We've all been crying about this for a very long time. I believe deep down he keeps hoping Cleverley and Anderson stay injury free all season. Chances are this is never going to happen. I hope this Kawaga player who I know so little about can upgrade our midfield.
Perferential treatment for Phil Jones
I know we paid alot for him, but Fergie has preferred Jones to Smalling at CB, Jones to Rafael at RB, and even Jones to Cleverley in CM! He has made more appearances than all 3 of these guys, the former 2 were sensational last season, Jones should've been eased in
=======================================
This has been one of my biggest irks aswell.
He seems to be playing him for the sake of it.
If jones came from our youth set up with the exact same ability and came into the side and made the mistakes he did early in the season he would of played much this year.
i still think he could do with someone more knowledgeable about modern tactics than phelan. or at least someone who offers a different perspective
