I posted something which relates to your question in earlier thread too.I think IPL would have been too big distraction for Pakistani players and Pakistan except for players pockets and State Bank are better off without IPL then would have been the case if they were in IPL.IPL might have lowered players appetite for international success, couple of premature retirements atleast from test cricket(Malinga is an example),injuries and perhaps a case or 2 like Gayle, that is abandoning your country for the sake of foreign league.
Agree with ^^^.
Regarding our players having quality, Afridi, Hafeez would definately walk into any team for their all round abilities.
Umar Akmal, Abdul Razzaq, Shoaib Malik may have also had a chance to play for a team.

I think its more the principal, and having the option. Rather than the benifits of not

It's a bit hypocritical from India where they allow Pakistani umpires, Pakistani coaches and Ramiz Raja to commentate but then won't allow players to participate. It would be better for the competetion to see some more Pak players and it's better having them than 3rd/4th rate Aussies and South Africans.
At least our boys are getting a rest now before the Sri Lanka tour
lets be honest asia. I think we all would have been enjoying the ipl if pakistani players were playing? surely you have to. I dont think ipl is a distraction to other cricketing countries. rather its indian cricket that is suffering. but again that is because indian players take it too seriously.
On whether pakistanis should play. well its not in the hands of BCCI or PCB. its a matter of indian government allowing this to happen since 26/11. so you really cant blame bcci or pcb for this. I would have liked to see all countries take part in ipl( if they reschedule the amount of games they have? ie make groups for the first part, and and then knock out stage and then finals?
I personally feel its too long for indian players and leaves them jaded after the tournament is over

Agreed that I would have enjoyed IPL more with Pakistani players in it.Other day , I was watching only to see Azhar's innings but on the other hand for Pakistani fans point of view it s not bad that our players are not in it since they are fresh for international assignment, lesser probability of injuries and lesser chance of cases occurring like Gayle and Malinga.

"It's a bit hypocritical from India where they allow Pakistani umpires, Pakistani coaches and Ramiz Raja to commentate but then won't allow players to participate."
very very interesting point, never gave a thought on this one.
Why is it so?does anyone know?
Have seen too many pakistani face in the IPL show.
Why are the likes of Asad Rauf and Ramiz Raza allowed in the IPL?
one very valid point I have seen in this thread.
well to answer your question, its more like they dont want to have a bilateral relation in terms of playing. I mean which indian fan or pakistani fan dont want to see matches between india and pakistan? this is all politics. pakistan played their part and india theirs. do people remember before ipl 3 began pakistanis were allowed to play in it, but pcb went on to say they will not give permision to pakistani players to go over the border? and hence none of the franchises chose pakistani players.
as for the umpires and etc, it is very clear that ipl dont mind have pakistanis who have no connection with the pcb. who is going to stop wasim akram from travelling to india? its like his 2nd home.... looool
