Funny, I actually hold the exact opposite view. If either of those goals was hit and hope it was Crouch's.
Crouch's was the best tbh.
"They're hit and hope goals. Crouch's was fabulous."
If Cisse's strike was a fluke then so is Crouch's strike.
If that was el Nino or rooney people would creaming over it.
It is the goal of the season but I personally like Rvp on the volley against everton, absolutely stunning technique.
8bit, yes it may have been but look at the comments. How he dismisses Cisse's goal because 'it was hit and hope'.
Surely Crouch's was more of a hit and hope?
Crouch and Cisse's goals were either volleys or half-volleys.
It won't get the acclaim, but Di Santo's against Newcastle is my gots.

RVP v Everton was the best goal in so far as it wasn't about hit and hope, it was about pure technique in pulling off the shot. Everything about it was perfection.
Cisse's goal though, that boggled the mind. You couldn't see that going in until it hit the back of the net. And then your brain had to do mental backflips to understand what had just happened.
Mehmet Topal goal was a fluke . I was backing Crouche's goal anyway but now I don't want to. To call it a 'hit and hope' is a disgrace'. He tried to do that just like Crouch tried to do his.

Exactly. But Cisse's goal was better than Crouch's IMO.
I sort of agree with him about Crouch's goal involving more technique, I do think it was far more technical. However Cisse's goal wasn't just hit and hope, if that's what it is surely every striker from long range is hit and hope, including Crouch's goal. Both fabulous goals but I do think the technique in Crouch's goal just edges it, I think I'll have to watch both goals a few times over then make my judgement.
