Sheperd. That man is a crook and was a terrible owner for Newcastle. At least he's not doing it just by himself

Joe Lewis, best pals with the bold Dermot..

You're welcome.

I love these OPs

How likely is a CVA? Remember who your 2 biggest creditors are.

This guy will liquidate the club. Mark my words.

CG: "I don't believe it is in the best interests of HMRC to turn down an offer where they receive cash in favour of receiving nothing."

Aye but HMRC are after much bigger fish than Rangers.

Do you think they willaccept 5/10 p in the pound when they are the overwhelming creditor?

There have been no noises to back this up.

Joe Lewis could buy Heinz bhoy twice over. Such a pal of Desmond he invested £40m in Rangers before.

I was going to be humble and contrite.....then i remembered all the posts about jelly and ice cream.
We didnt walk away. Fantastic news. Liquidation ie asett sale? No, maybe need to do prepack admin using the Miller plan, but history is safe and id rather more was paid to HMRC.
Mr Whyte..........ronseal.

Only if they've 'won' the BTC

If not, its Ticketus (who are now going after Whytie)

If you get to pay 10p in the pound, how much is that?

HMRC

From what I have heard will except nothing lower than 0.20p of the £, will be interesting to see what really happens

posted on 13/5/12

Tim,
I think they will. It's better than nowt.
It's been said that the BTC is being used as a test case and if they win they will go after a host of premiership clubs. If they received pence in the pound off us won't change that, because they've still "won" in a way. The EPL clubs who are found guilty won't go to the wall or even into admin because of it and wont have to offer pence in the pound.

We will see how this pans out, liquidation will only happen if the big tax case goes against Rangers, if it doesnt then a CVA will happen and they will have to accept it or they get nowt.

Either way Rangers will still be in the SPL, wearing the same colours playing in the same stadium, singing the same songs.

If on the other hand Rangers are forced to liquidate because HMRC wanted their cash, I guarantee you a lot of English clubs will be setting aside LOTS of cash to address any liabilities.

This, I think, is HMRCs game. Rangers are the sacrifice. And worthy of sacrifice given how they've tried to stiff the taxpayer so brazenly.
