Batmanu

We managed to score at least 2 in every group game, and beat both the Milan sides on the way to the quarter final in our first attempt.

It's not as if we went 90 minutes without getting a shot on goal or anything.. THAT would be embarrassing

Embarrassed? We got further than you last time slaphead

I would consider a 5-0 aggregate defeat which coincidentally is the largest aggregate defeat an English team has suffered in the Champions League rather embarrassing.

" we don't want spurs embarassing the premier league again"

right Came top of a very hard group beating the former european champions in the process, beating AC milan at the san siro ( you lost 4-0 ) .....really embarassed ourselves, we actually made the champions league good and everyone took notice of spurs

Seriously only Spurs can lose 5-0 in the quarter finals and still take pride in their Champions League campaign. Any sort of defeat at that stage of the tournament for United, Chelsea, Arsenal and even Liverpool would have been considered a failure. This is why Chelsea must beat Bayern.

Crouch's sending off ruined that tie as a competition, we still had a few shots on goal too

Well done Bales left boot, you can place that accolade alongside your 'top London club at Christmas' trophy

You g00ns and your imaginary trophies

If that's what helps for you fill your boots, i'm just happy we didn't embarrass ourselves by showing no ambition in the CL.

Funny that an ambitious club would consider a 5-0 quarter final defeat a successful campaign.

Batmanu, that's funny because you're fans were getting a huge hard on when you won 3-0 against AC milan, even though you lost the tie 4-3 so they completely goes against what you are saying

Stop moving the goalposts Batmanu, you sneaky wum!

It is not an embarrassment to get beaten by Real when you have to play with 10 men for 75mins.

Failing to get a shot on goal for 90mins is.

What would you know about success in the CL anyway?

Batmanu, i said this was a thread for talking about Bayern. There are other threads for you to parade around in boasting about another trophyless season for Arsenal, no need for it on here so you will be deleted if you continue, i will give you the benefit now but will delete if you continue

Eh, what? We were just pleased with the team's effort. After losing the first leg 4-0 we could have rolled over in the 2nd leg like Spurs did against Real but we are better than that

There is getting beat and there is breaking the record for most shots ever conceded in a single match in Champions League history, which is what Spurs did. I don't give a monkey's if we didn't have a shot against Barca. We gave them 2 good games which is the most you can ask for when they are considerably better than us. Again I'm glad we didn't roll over like Spurs did.

Fair enough Don. Happy St.Totteringham's day. Good night.

posted on 14/5/12

we didn't roll over though we had peter crouch who stupidly got sent off and cost us the game. Yes we probably wouldn't of won anyway but we certainly wouldn't of got beat like that. You got smashed 4-0 only this season to AC Milan, a side we beat 1-0 in the san siro only a season before

ok Batmanu

Now come on Bayern!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We also set a goal scoring record for the group stages - playing with ambition will catch you out, especially when you're a man down.

And we lack ambition?!

Bales, join the bayern forum......we need to give the boys all the support they need

I honestly think chelsea will struggle, Luiz and Cahill are not match fit and will be a huge risk

I think they'll miss Ramires more - he's a real match-winner.

Still, they've got Drogba

posted on 14/5/12

Yes they have drogba who is a machine but i can't see them stopping Bayerns attack, especially with no proper defence. I can't see both Luiz and Cahill starting because they are carrying hamstring injuries and haven't played for a month, luiz over a month.

posted on 14/5/12

I agree Don, been saying since they got to the final they'd be picked apart by Robben and Ribery. I'm pretty confident.. well I was until I heard about their cup drubbing.

CMON BAYERN!!!

bales, i wouldn;t worry about the cup loss mate. This is a different gravy. I bet there mind was on the CL final for one, they probably didn't over stretch themselves in fear of getting injured. The final will be played in their home ground, in their city with all the supporters around the city creating a carnival like atmosphere, i will be so suprised if chelsea win. Knowing our luck though

Let's hope Neuer's on form for this one
