I would say that in Carroll and Suarez, we already have two players than can score goals. It is the quality of the deliveries and chances created that's the problem.
So, if we had RVP, rooney or Aguero....would we be title contenders????
They showed every shot that hit the woodwork of liverpools on soccer am last week. Quite a lot of them!
Thinking of stats, City had 44 shots on goal against QPR! That has to be some sort of record
ive seen downing put some very decent crosses in this season, and Carroll has been lumbering around on the edge of the box without making any effort to bust a gut and get in there.
dont disillusuion yourself guys, carrolls had a few decent games recently but up until recently he has been very poor... and i know...my inlaws are scouse fans
The only reason Downing finished with 0 assists is because of incompetence in front of goal. Not his fault.

my comment was based on the above mate, the quality of the crosses at times have been perfect, its the men in the middle who a) cant convert them, or b) arent in the right place.
I would say that the fact that both of them have been here 18 months and their combined premier league goals tally in that time doesnt add up to van persies season haul shows that they are not the guys who will score goals. Theyll get a few yeah but neither will ever lead the league in goals.
Downing has been unlucky at times. Hes put a few great balls across this season, not his fault carrol, kuyt, etc have fluffed the chance.
With van p, would we be title challengers, no chance! Would be in top 4 contention, yeah i think most definately.
A striker who gets 20-25 a season would have been like a dog with 2 thingys in our team this season. Untill recently Carroll has been poor and wasn't getting in to the box, so it didn't matter how many times the ball was fizzed across the box and it was a good few times. We wouldn't score, a poacher would have bagged 20!
King Luis - I completely agree and have been saying this for quite a few months now to many of my work colleagues - we just need a poacher to feed off these chances. Dare I suggest it, but would targeting a potentially cheap Michael Owen be worth a shout in the transfer market this season? Alternatively, perhaps we should give Defoe a lifeline form Spurs? Both have the gift of knowing where to be at the right time in the box, and have the ability to finish well - or are they both deemed to be past it now? Could be worth a shout for a season at least?
YAAAAAA BEEUUUUTTTTYYY
I have yet to give my verdict on Liverpool's season as a whole now that it's over but I was going to mention these stats having seen them on the OS a few days ago. I think Carroll and Suarez are capable of finishing off these chances but if we do bring in someone else what the stats do show is that we are creating the opportunities to score so in many respects I do agree with Kenny when he says the team isn't doing too much wrong. If the team can replicate this next season we should surely get more goals and more points.

Anyone else notice Owen all stripped off ready to rush the field as united were wating for city's game to finish? would he even have got a medal???
Lazy boy! Wants something for nothing, well you get what play for!
Taggs and kash - understand your feedback but rather than being both reactive and dismissive in your response why not try and be a little more constructive in your argument by indicating what other alternatives you feel would give further potency in front of goal. I am only throwing out names in suggestion and in line with the article about how we could improve our goals tally next year. Would love to hear your suggestions on this...over to you.
