plus hoping to keep zat knight petrov and kevin davies

I have read somewhere that Kevin Davies has signed a contract extension, I hope that is the case as he'll be a good player in the Championship. I'd also like to keep Jussi too but only on a reduced and reasonable wage for a back up 'keeper, Bogdan's very much the main man now.

If we could keep Petrov that'd be great, one of our best players in the last couple of weeks but I'd be skeptical over his wage demands and whether he'd want to stay.

Davies' odd wife tweeted about him signing a new one year deal last night, and then deleted the tweets.

I know it's off topic, but I really think anyone who takes the time to view this:

Will thank me.

12 million is a start but on tv revenue alone we will drop form 50mil to 16mil, so leaves about 22mil to go, not taking into account drop in gates, sponsorship, commercial & corporate income.

The only way I can see us getting near the expenditure cuts we need will be to sell CYL, Holden & Mavis to raise income to cover next season & then pray we get promoted at the end of it.

Bricks, a number of the players had clauses in their contracts giving them a wage drop in the event of relegation.

plus we have i think its 14 million parachute payment

That will help somewhat but overall we are looking at reducing expenditure by about 40 million against the last years accounts, and even then we lost 26mil on top, so if we've done nothing to get rid of those losses, we are looking at a 66mil reduction in expenditure!!

That's the average over a 4 year period, paid as such:

yr 1 - 16m
yr 2 - 16m
yr 3 - 12m
yr 4 - 12m

well can not see them selling them 3 then we would have no chance of going back up

It might not be all of them, but I cannot see how we can receive enough income without selling some player assets to cover our expenditure.

We will also get money from the FL for tv rights, plus there's a payment from the PL from to all clubs in the FL. So there's about £4m extra to take into account as well when figuring out our income.

Klasnic
Jussi
Blake
Davis
Gardner
Robinson
Boyata
Tuncay
Miyachi

All definitely released now, that's knocked £12m off overall thus far.

Davies on a much lower deal.

Petrov has played in a contract extension as he has played so many games, but his choice whether to lower wage and stay, his choice.

Steinsson is likely to be cut adrift.

Knight may stay, purely due to Wheaters injury, but on a much lower deal if he does.

Ricketts set to sign a new deal.

Reo Coked has a release clause because we were relegated.

It's gonna be interesting as we need Ricketts, Petrov, Steinsson, Knight, NRC futures to be sorted next... The first 4 will be sorted first.

Dno whether keeping Knight on a reduced deal would be ok, he may be awful, but would he do ok in the championship? And on massively reduced terms? Especially with Wheater out till atleast new year..

The average wage of those 9 players who have already gone is £25k a week...madness.

I want Knight gone, I would almost rather have Robinson play CB. Almost.......

Just realized big Kev is the last of the BSA era and he's probably only got another year in him, 2 at most.

dont think we should release Gardner or Jussi. Would seem a shame if they don't end their careers at Bolton.

Mainly hope we keep Petrov, Ricketts and Steinsson though, and hopefully we can get a better CB than Knight. Surely that million we spent on Connelly wasn't for him to bolster the reserves.

Notlobbing, you can't make a footballing case for keeping Gardner, only a sentimental one. He has to go.

Steinsson will be gone - we don't need 3 right backs.

Petrov has activated an appearance-based clause in his contract which entitles him to a contract extension - if he wants one.

Ricketts is an invaluable player because he can cover all four defensive positions.

I think its disgusting how we have just kicked jussi up the backside like that! Its sickening...

Such a great servant to the club, at least offer him a coaching role or somthing.

Bunch of uncaring, penny pinching two-hats the lot of them...

It's been reported in the Bolton News that Eddie Davies will contine to bank roll the club although the money available for players will not amount to much.

I'm not too worried about signing new players although a decent centre back would be a good addition to the squad as I'm not sure about Zat, even at Championship level.

I've heard on the grapevine that Jussi, Ricketts and Petrov are joining SKD in signing new deals. If this is true its great news! Ricketts, like LH said is invaluable. Jussi deserves one for his service and I dont think Lainton is ready just yet should we need him and Petrov would quite simply be awesome in the Championship.

I thought Steinsson signed a new deal a month ago?

Would offer Ricketts, Petrov and SKD new deals. The rest are gone. On too high wages and definitely replaceable. We need a fresh team. It really depends on who Coyle has got his eye on to bring in.

We have a loan deal sorted with Chelsea as part of Cahill transfer. No player decided yet. I would suggest a full back...Bruma probably.

I mean a centre half.

........

id suggest an attacking player - they cost more to buy, we can pick up a CB for peanuts...

posted on 15/5/12

We don't need an attacker.

I would do anything to ensure Zat Knight doesn't play. It looks like his contract will be renewed because we have no other defenders.
