So what happens if say 6 clubs go down the City route. What happens to the Sheik whose club finishes 6th ?

I am not sure all fans want their clubs run in that way. Certainly a number of Arsenal fans were not happy at the thought of Usmanov doing an Abramovich at the Emirates.

There has always been player inflation. Now it matters?

..............

Tom

Think of why Leeds are where they are now, and you may have a clue as to what this is about.

Fair enough, I get that you hate United, but it is because of living beyond your clubs means that Leeds went into administration.

There you go, Thomas, if you comment enough someone will reply eventually

"City are expected to overtake Liverpool in the football rich list the next time the figures are realised so I'd say that financially we're heading in the right direction."

You've worked hard for it, Boris. Well done mate.

We have, the rich list is made up by revenue, not investment by the owner or in United's case, how much the owner has sucked out.

Think this has been done before.Leeds didn't have money they borrowed it.

................

It doesn't make any difference where the money come from. If you could have paid it back, you wouldn't have gone into administration.

That is the point in the FFP rules.

If the City owner, or the Chelsea owner just decided to pack up an leave, and take all their money with them, what do you think will happen to Chelsea and City?

City's owners have already pledged the money committed in wages for the next 5 years. The committment is written in stone no matter what their plans are and the chances of them packing it up seem somewhat slim at the moment.

Thanks, next up we have to target the developing nations. Tough shout as that's staunch United territory.

To be fair VC, they can't and won't just pack up and leave.

I get the point you are making though. From our perspective, give it time!

The situation at Leeds and Portsmouth was exactly what FFP was initially brought in to stop - clubs spending money that they simply didn't have. That is why spending on infrastructure is still allowed - to still encourage investment.

Personally, I can't understand the point whatsoever in the Fit and Proper persons test...

I know, but at least you got the point. Even Binky did, which is something to behold.

The fact is the Premier League is a worldwide success in terms of poularity and media exposure. UEFA don't want us to be all powerful and this is just an attempt to deter new potential investors. If they were queing up to buy Serie A or Bundersliga teams the FFP rules would never have been considered.

Um, they'll all have to move to Manchester once they start following you though won't they?

Meh, leave them to live in abject pverty and target the aid money.

Binky, it isn't City UEFA are particularly trying to stop here.

IMO they are against PL teams dominating the CL, and have seen City and Chelsea as a huge threat to that because of the amount of money both teams could spend.

They never had a problem with Real Madrid being given money by the Spanish Goverment, or Barcelona being subsidised by the banks ten years ago.

The scousers will never switch to city. Nice plan though.

Vidicschin, that's tied in with what I'm saying. English teams repeatedly winning the CL will raise the Prems stock even further.

So, he isn't being unethical? Make your mind up.

Did I say he was being unethical? I said his comments were ill advised.
