england could take terry although they will need to remember to bring him a hammock to tie in between the posts.
might as well since he spends most of the game lieing on the ground anyway

classic stuff
...because Ashley Cole is probably the second best LB in the world to Lahm
Gerrard is decent as is Terry and would be obvious choices if you really want to do well rather than set up for future years
Rooney is Englands best striker..
Walcott is 23 and is the most obvious choice in the wing role
Walcott is 23 and is the most obvious choice in the wing role
-------
he cant control a ball though, rendering him useless
Terry looked like he was deliberately going down in that clip, as if he thought feck it I'm never gonna catch RVP.
I really don't think there is an obvious choise for the right wing, not in the slightest.
You have;
Lennon - Whippet, can beat a man, do the unexpected but is poor defensively.
Walcott - very frustrating, horribly inconistant and poor all round game, BUT he can be a match winner on his day. Good finisher and makes good runs when he is on form.
Milner - Good cross, works hard and is good tactically, but lacks imagination and pace.
Sturridge - Very selfish, again inconsistant but very good technically and again, can win you a game.
Johnson - A lot like sturridge, por defensively but on his day is very tricky and can win you a game, though Mancini doesn't even trust him to play for City.
P.S - I’d go Milner, despite him being abysmal in SA, he will hopefully have Walker bombing down the right wing so his defensive capabilities will be important. He has also just won the league title with City so his head will be in a good place.
Not sure why we want to take 5 strikers. Rooney is our only decent striker - why would we want to take 4 other average players with us? The extra player would be of far greater benefit if we added an extra defender. We seem to have 2 players for every position (3 for goalkeeper) except centre back - it doesn't make sense to me.
Spurtle, of the list you have at the top - Owen hasn't played all season, and Sturridge has only played as a winger. Those two would be ridiculous choices to take as strikers (if you want Sturridge as a winger that's a different discussion - I wouldn't).
And Defoe has been a sub for Spurs - hardly a ringing endorsement. My choices for the 4 strikers would be:
Rooney
Wellbeck
Crouch
plus either Holt or Carroll
Terry did deliberately fall over, I fully believe that. He threw his hands out before he started falling FFS!
BlueJ2 I've addressed most of your points in my other threads. Although I've been sticking to a 5 striker, 3 centreback system for these polls, I'll show an alternative team with 4 centre backs and 4 strikers, by adding and subrtracting the 4th highest voted CB and 4th highest voted striker, respectively.
Owen has not played much I agree but there was room out of the 10 choices to put him in the poll, and our choices anyway are pretty dreadful.
Sturridge was in the Winger position poll and didn't receive enough votes, hence why he's in striker voting as well, aside from the fact he's naturally a striker.
In fairness, if anybody is going to grab yuo a goal when you need it, it's Owen.
He has never looked out of place when he has played for us.
Sturridge is a greedy . Don't let him get anywhere near the squad.
Busby yes Owen is a natural finisher and you'd want him over most of our others to convert a last minute 1 on 1 chance.
Rooney
Wellbeck
Crouch
Carroll
I’d go Milner, despite him being abysmal in SA
----------
harsh, very harsh. we all know his limitations but he was one of few playing with pride. Feck Rooney and all the big egos - we need a TEAM out there.
Rooney
Carroll
Welbeck
Sturridge
Bent
I really wouldn't consider any others
Charlionso - Bent but not Defoe?
I will give the squad tomorrow.
