Parker hasn't been great for us in recent months, niggles and tiredness have affected him.

How long till the left out players start tweeting about it?

Not that I take any notice of the Sun but for those who refuse to read it it states Richards has been told he's not going already - not that he's out injured. Jagielka's not going either, Rio was asked tonight if it was true he wasn't going and he said yes. Carrol is going and Hodgson met with Terry, Lampard, Cole and Cahill yesterday to discuss his plans.

Can't believe he's gone for the Chelsea side as the focal point of the team when he could have gone with the United/City core of Hart, Rio, Lescott, Richards, Jones, Carrick, Scholes, Barry, Wayne and Wellbeck.

Another clear indication that the England team is for southerners.

Hodgson also said on monday that he had to take in to account the players who had got England to the finals. You can see where this is going. Same old same old.

If thats true carrickature then thats shocking. I though Hodgson was good appointment but that is shocking if he doesnt take the likes of lescott, richards considering walker is not fit and carrick, jones etc. This is a euro championship which england wont win anyway so why not give the young players a chance and just write it off. Spain did it everyone laughing at them but they were planning ahead knowing that a few bad tournaments will transpire into winning tournaments. England have no forward planning at all just take the same players each tournament and then when they get knocked out blame the ref. How can he take carroll, oh yeah because he is a big brute of a player typical england this isnt the 80's hodgson

Hodgson is just another 'yes man' like McClaren. That's why the FA chose him I suppose.

Germany effectively played their 2007 Under 21s Championship team in 2008 and nearly won the thing. 2010 semi's beaten by a set piece. 2012 possible winners. Funny what structured youth development and future planning do.

May as well just try the youngsters in this tournament too as its not as big and they cant do any worse otherwise these youngsters will be thrown into a world cup. England just dont help themself and untill they have some common sense and stop with all this best league in the world rubbish they could have a chance. The only reason its one of the best is because of all the foreigners, not the english players.

I will not be shocked to see us lineup like this against France if this is all true:

Hart
Johnson Terry Cahill Cole
Barry Lampard
Gerrard
Walcott Carroll Downing

It's be just like England to pick only 2 players from 1st and 2nd and 4 from a team that finished 8th.

If thats the starting 11 then rooney may as well stay at home as he will only get one game against ukraine as they wont get out the group stage with that 11. Hodgson plays boring football as well

If Downing goes I genuinely think riots could start.

Does not help with the nonsensical fees for English players. How can 16m odd for Henderson help his development in the slightest. Young players aren't going to be consistently brilliant every single game but we throw them into the media spotlight with stupid fees, if it works we hype them up to the maximum and if it doesn't their rubbish and should never play for England again.

We aren't going to win anyway, so in some ways of like that lineup so that when they fail epically people might learn they're not good enough.

The problem with people in this country is they don't ever learn.

Quite a lot of the clued up fans of football in this country do know pretty much what is wrong with English football. It's generally the morons who are sat in studios, going on about what great players Lamps and Stevie G are, instead of having a clue about what makes a winning team.
