eerr, hiiiiiiya err kagawa san, errrrrr, you vant sum ov ze flied lice??

Japanese with his french accent

No but seriously, Arsenal also have a japanese player in their squad already (that Michyi whatever his name is) plus he'd be more likely to start there.

If it's a straight tug o war between ourselvs and Arsenal, I'd say it'll be 50-50

Reasons why he would choose us over Arsenal

We win things
We can offer more money
We have a better squad/team
We actually do well in Europe
He supports United

I don't think the language issue is going to let that get in the way of his career, I'm sure he couldn't speak German when he moved to Dortmund. Anyway Park speaks Japanese (as well as Korean, English and Spanish) so can help out there.

Isn't that just an impression of Wenger talking to him in pidgin English?

Meh, Evra can probably speak Japanese too.

We win things - don't jinx it. Cant see us winnign CL anytime soon and the Prem could well be City's for a while

We can offer more money - maybe a few grand more but doubt that'd be a deciding factor

We have a better squad/team - less likely to make the staring XI. He'd defintiely make Arsenal's first XI, not so sure ours

We actually do well in Europe - again, don't jinx it. Can you see us winning it anytime soon?

He supports United - only reported

I hope you're right though

i doubt that, arsenal have a better midfield than we do at the mo, song, arteta and wilshire are at least as good if not better than what we have in my opinion.

They have better CMs but Kagawa would fit in perfectly as one of their 'false wingers' i.e. cutting in from the right or left (he's two footed)

I still cant see how he'd fit into our 442. I can only imgaine him playing Rooney's no.10 role. What do you think?

Yes, but if he went to Arsenal he'd probably be played in this midfield 3. If he came to United, he'd replace one of the wingers or one of the strikers. It's just the formation we play.

I think we will see a move towards a 4231 formation, in which case he will play on the left or centre of the 3.

its possible, maybe thats the idea, someone creative to play in that position and then Rooney to play further up to get the goals.

I cant see Fergie dropping Welbeck out the starting XI and putting Rooney right up top though seeing as though Fergie loves Welbeck.

You'd also imagine two of Young, Nani,Valencia would start pretty much all games (if they're fit) meaning Kagawa will either be played in the Rooney role and Rooney push up like you said, or he will be moulded into a CM (hope not)

I'm not trying to jinx thing, just look at the facts over the past 7 years

United 4 PL 1 CL 3 League Cups 1 World Clubs Cup
Arsenal 0

Any player thinking of joining United or Arsenal must be thinking about that.

Also I would like to think Kagawa was impressed Ferguson went to the German Cup Final to see him personally considering we had such a big game the next day. Reminds me of when Ramsey chose Arsenal over United, we invited him round Carrington and got Neville to show him round. Wenger flew him and his family to Euro 2008 and spoke to him personally.

He is not a centre midfielder.

Why can't United fans understand he would not be used in this formtation?

I sometimes woner if our own fans watch us play, we haven't used a conventional 4-4-2 since Keane left and we signed Rooney.

If we sign Kagawa which it appears to be the case then we will most certainly be playing 4-2-3-1 next season.

We play 442 but it just so happens Rooney likes dropping deep whereas Welbeck/hernandez doesnt making it effectively a 4411 in play

Watch Madrid play, now that is a 4231. Ronado and Di Maria do little to no defending and Ozil plays way ahead of Alonso/Khedira who rarely enter the last 3rd.

For us, our wingers are expected to tracks back everytime we lose the ball and Rooney is NOT a AMC even though he drops deep

I love how Mdarid set up and I'd like to see us copy that tactic.

who says we never play a 442??

are you telling me that when rooney and welbeck both start we are not playing a 442???

and dont give me its a 433 rubbish because it isnt, its a 451, as said above the wingers track back to defend and we play one up top on his own, which would then allow kagawa to play in a 3 man cm, but further advanced of the other 2

and you say other people dont watch

Personally I would go with

Carrick/Scoles *new player*
Nani Kagawa Young/Welbeck
Rooney

Kagawa would work perfectly there and Rooney could still drop deep but not too deep, similar to Messi's role at Barca.
