I agree with most of your points, especially the patience on transfers IN.
I am confident that we will be up there next season and I have utmost faith in Wenger to manage the squad; if they leave, they will be replaced with sufficient skill and experience.
Wenger has been in this game longer than most of his detractors have been walking. Something some people should not forget.
However I do wish he would look at the coaching team around him. He is right that our players have the potential to win the league. I am not sure they receive the correct defensive, tactical and mental coaching and support from the people who take massive paycheques to support him in providing it.
Wenger's policy on wages is a farce. If the likes of Almunia, Bendtner, Diaby and Denilson can earn £50,000+ per week, then Nasri is fully entitled to a big wage packet.
Also, i don't understand peoples problem with Nasri. Has he ever stated his intention to leave? Has he demanded a move? It was Arsenal FC that decided to wait until the last year of his contract and it's all Arsenal FC incompetent behaviour that has led us to this point.

i agree 100% with your point on the coaching side NW5Gooner, the defensive and mental coaching seems to be very poor, because it wasnt just last season that our defence has been pretty poor at times, it has been a good few years and nothing has changed!

I don't think it isn't about the money. It's about the value that Arsenal put on him and what ambition they have as a team.
If you played in this team and saw the likes of Clichy leave and Fabregas looking likely to leave, wouldn't you question your role at the club?
In either case, if it was about the money then i still don't have a problem with it. He's fully entitled to a pay rise and he got an excellent bargaining chip. The fact Arsenal have let his contract run down and he had potential suitors is not his fault.

Remember he got injured during the mid-season when over played by Wenger. We know how good he can get. At times he was unplayable. Wouldn't you want to see that for the next 4-5 years?
That's the arguement Nasri's camp are probably making. If Arsenal want to keep a Top Top player, they need to dish out Top Top money. If not, then we'll have to settle for the likes of Denilson for years to come.
