LC ain't going anywhere, yet. get used to it.
DH has total faith in him it seems...but I'm also sure that if we aren't in the frame at Xmas, LC might find himself under pressure..then you might get your way.
Not necessarily a Clark out campaign, more a what is the feeling given the loss of key players? There is an opportunity now, to take the team forward not just change the workforce and hope for the best.
Jeez wish some people would drop this "Clark out" mantra they seem to be persueing. It won't happen,he isn't going anywhere, you know it,I know it,Dean Hoyle knows it and Lee Clark knows it and probably even JK Boots has accepted the fact now.For gods sake.
Ive just heard from a good source we are signing Liam Cooper from Hull ! Apparently was at Carlisle last season on loan for a bit did anyone see him or know about him ???
We just missed out by the skin of our teeth on promotion last year so there couldn't have been much wrong with the set-up.
OK, so we've lost a couple of our perceived star player but have picked up over £3 million quid in exchange, which can't be bad for a third tier side and lets face it, if these two couldn't help us get promoted we might as well cash in and bring in some different talent and see what they can do to help us realise our dreams.
Clarky's now starting his third full season in charge and he has shown a year on year improvement, so I reckon we owe it to him to give him one last shot at promotion, after all he's still got a 25 league game unbeaten run under his belt which is not to be sniffed at.
In Lee Clark I Trust.
not much wrong with the squad or the set up of the club last season..
its therfore logical to assume that the problem was with the way the squad was used and the way it played in football matches..
ergo????
blindingly obvious really isnt it?
Tbh I feel ashamed to be associated with our team after reading certain posters comments on here.
3 million for two "star" players...posh got over 3 million for one player that cost them nothing..they only paid him decent ,money for the last 6 months....
mirf, if it smacks you over the head will you continue to ignore the bleeding obvious???
dean hoyle can buy it, but lee clark cant make it work and we cant sell it on...
jonnyh..
dont be ashamed... little boys are ashamed..
town fans have their say..they then stand on sh-t nights at dagenham and other p-ss pot holes in the ground and freeze their b-lls off trying to get some life into "star" players who we all knew from early doors last season didnt want to play for huddersfield town..
grow up and get a pair...because shortly deano will and we will be better off for it..
lee clark needs to start being a manager and stop being an ex player and using all the same sh-t excuses that were used for him and other players when they just could not be ars-d..or they felt they could do better somewhere else..
miller is here because we have failed to get a better midfielder to come and the centre back lad is here because clark badly handled morrison last season and he may have put off some better propects from coming here..
the above is just as likely to be the facts as much as the b-m licking clark twaddle that plodded out on a regular basis..
You can't compare M-S to Pilks or Pelts. Fowards will always generate bigger transfer fees.
And anyway M-S was probably scared to ask for a wage increase fearing Darragh wudda sent heavies round to his house
38, we've all been there on cold wet nights. I actually enjoy em but I would far rather be in this position compared to 10 yrs ago or be run by a corrupt f#@ker such as Ridsdale or Bates
From my point of view, there are still significant issues with the way the team is managed, no consistancy in selection, no plan 'B' when it goes wrong, negative tactics instead of killing teams off, all discussed at great length elsewhere over the last year or more, that said the blame is not all at Clarks door, but his lack of control or motivation of certain players is there for all to see (Clark waving UP the field Clarke pulling them back just one example). I don't care if he stays or goes, but if he stays he needs to make sure he is in charge and get the team following HIS instructions........
Sommer,
With all due respect their can't be much wrong with Clark if he can guide his team through a 25 match unbeaten league run and end up with 87 points can they? - or am I missing something?
Yes something between your lugs
Hydra,
Speaking from experience are you?
I'm hopefull that LC has learned a few things from last season, and I'm sure his advisers are telling him the same things as are mentioned on here...he's not a one man band and I don't think he is surrounded by yes men either...so he'll be aware of the shortcomings of last year and I have no doubt next season we'll see an improved performance
I don't think LC is a fool, but he and his team of coaches need to get the message into the players heads assuming of course he can get together a group of players capable of doing as he asks.
Part of me says there were one or two players who wanted to do their own thing last season, and you can't have that in a team game.
I've been as critical as anyone of the style and standard last season and equally amazed at how we managed to get so close to promotion with so many dire performances.
However, I'll be giving him another chance and supporting and much as usual, for the time being....
If Clarky is now starting his 3rd full season with us, and bookies runner Terry MaC came to help him in his first job as "Gaffer", I have to ask the question when does this help be no deemed as no longer required ?
I have said all along that Clark needs help, but the help he has recieved from TM does not seem to have been succesfull ie - tactics, team selection and the ability to influence a game from the touchline.
Does Clark need an old head over him ? rather than one under/alongside him ?
Bryce
Have to agree, not sure he has been blessed with the best help and there sure has been a lot of it, but he is the one in the hot seat and should be man enough to recognise his weaknesses and bring in the right support he needs to overcome them. Like I said way up I don't necessarily want rid, but equally I don't want to hear in 8 months time "oh well we lost some of our best players and I am rebuilding........blah blah"
We lost those players PARTLY because we failed but of course come may next year that will have been a very long time ago. But it was still failure anf I have seen enough of this league, and other teams getting out whilst we sit around slapping ourselves on the back for a 25 match unbeaten run. I said some time ago in another place I could almost accept Ritchie or Turnip because at least then I knew we were rubbish and did not have three years of hype from the club, countless players coming and going, free T-shirts and clappers and Carlisle away agian........
