Admittedly this is what a forum is for... but I'm just arguing that perhaps we should engage in debate rather that meaningless complaints over managers we in all honesty know little about.

A debate should include people portraying the positives of Martinez and Rodgers etc..

Not just denounce them as 'not good enough'

Ah, just worked out the OP ran out of room for the title, it was meant to read:

LFC Posters - Please don't be stupid by reading this article.

It all makes sense now.

Debate is good, but I am not sure we need so many articles slagging of the Owners who i dont think have done much wrong, articles slagging of Kuyt!!, claiming the owners said they dont want trophies etc.

People do need to think a little and actually read things they are posting first.

"Just had about a dozen troll accounts created this week"

My mates dad gave us a lift out the other week and he was going on about how he didn't use face book because he didn't want to get trolled

As long as I don't have to mass debate with you RAP, that's fine.

Or anyone else, come to think of it.

And let's be honest, who here doesn't enjoy a good ol' fashioned mass debate from time to time?

That completely went over my head

You have terrible aim...

Rafael Benitez gained promotion to La Liga by finishing third in the league (Div.2) behind Sevilla and Real Betis.

He was then taken by Valencia and became a huge success, and on to Liverpool for more success.

Prior to taking Porto to the UEFA Cup, Champions League success and their domestic title, Jose Mourinho was manager of União de Leiria (yeah, I've never heard of them either).

There are probably countless other examples.

If you do not give clear talent a chance how will they ever show themselves to be capable of coping with the pressures and expectations of a big club?

You lost me at the title

TERRIBLE article....you do realize that even in the last 10 years we are third most successful club in England dont you? there are 2 decent leagues... Spain and England... Martinez and Rodgers are nowhere near big enough for the job.

Steve Clarke, Dalglish's assistant, handed in his resignation out of loyalty to the 61-year-old Scot, but it has been rejected.

So hes staying then ? good news, if so because if it ends up being Martinez he will need all the help he can get in defence coaching.

If Clarke's staying, i'd say yr taking the possability of AVB very seriously. Last regrime they were both involved with couldn't have gone better. On a professional level, it certainly works.

Thank you Devonshirespur.

I am not saying we're not a big club.. but we're not attractive enough for the fantasies that some of you seem to uphold.

posted on 18/5/12

What fantasies, the majority of people know we wont be getting pep or mourinho

Who do you want to be our next manager Lucas the Destroyer?

posted on 18/5/12

Not sure tbh, Rafa, possibly avb, i'm not stupid enough to think pep or mourinho would could in

posted on 18/5/12

Rafa's not on FSG's 8 man shortlist... and perhaps it will be AVB but he was a 'failure' at Chelsea. What's he got more than Martinez? He's one the Portuguese with Porto... not that hard to do.. I'm just playing devil's advocate.

AVB would be good, but so would Martinez

posted on 18/5/12

You know FSG's shortlist?

posted on 18/5/12

Several of the newspapers have stated that Rafa is not on FSG's shortlist as he does not fit their criteria. It's something like:

Guardiola, Capello, Martinez , Rodgers, (the rest.. are guesses by the newspaper.. I assume)

posted on 18/5/12

You're going by newspapers, well i could go by the bookies and say he is a candidate

posted on 18/5/12

someone should do a post about what everyone thinks fsg criteria is when looking for a manager?
