we are cursed.
but we are still complete internal fackups.
pissssed away all the good work in the first half of season. should have come 3rd easily
brilliant article, sums it up perfectly how i would think if it was the other way round with our clubs
I wouldn't say cursed but certainly a very unlucky team. Nevertheless I agree with what you're saying, and definitely don't think the England job is an excuse. If people thought about it more they'd realise that the England job wasn't really a factor. It was just a matter of the players and Arry bottling it, just like they did towards the end of last season with that dreadful run. Another run like that and Harry doesn't deserve to keep his job, it's as simple as that.
Good article
Might help if you gave yourself a name rather than use the site number.............................
curse you just facked it up thats all
i agree and i don't agree. Yes you can blame the players for the complete bottle job when we were 13 points clear but the countless amount of bad luck down the years as a spurs fan is astonishing. .....
. How do you explain lasagna gate? Only 1 team in the world would lose out to their main rivals with the s hits on the last day of the season when we had champions league in our hands, only bloody spurs.
. How do you explain some of the worse decisions in premier league history going against us........ie Pedro mendes goal against united that basically touched the back of the net but was ruled out, the FA Cup ghost goal by chelsea these are up there with some of the worse ref decisions in years and they happen to be involving tottenham
. How do you explain the fact that the media and all pundits touted redknapp as soon as the england job became vacant. Yes we all knew Harry was favourite but it went into over drive when capello got sacked, papers were almost prepared for Harry to take over england, you wonder why our players were unsettled.....how do you explain that?
. How do you explain how on earth chelsea won yesterday and against Barca when both teams completely dominated............If god exists i can assure you he ain't a spurs fan, far from it. It was almost like he was up in the sky chucking lightening bolts with his stick at Bayern munich every time they attacked.....
Clear cut chance.......have my bolt!!!
Robben penalty .....another bolt!!!!
Penalties ...... Bolt again..........."spurs are not getting to the champions league"
OP, If you can't see how we don't get bad luck then you can't understand mate
When liverpool won it in '05 it was the first time a club outside it's own top 4 had done so

Just a little point, but this is not actually correct. It happened in Spain before, but the Spanish FA took the decision to put the CL winners (Real I think) in and not the league qualifiers. This meant UEFA didn't have to make a decision on the holders.
The English FA on the other hand decided to honour the 4th placed teams right, meaning UEFA had to deal with a situation where the holders were not set to defend their title. Luckily for them TNS saw a money making opportunity and offered to play off for their place.
Not really a major point to your article though
I may not agree with many of your points, but it's well-written and thought out, welcome to 606

They've beaten the best sides in Italy, Germany and Spain to win it, that takes more than luck.
Complete and utter nonsense.
Both Barca and Bayern missed penalties, how often in a million years is that going to happen. Probably never again against the same side in successive matches.
Both Barca and Bayern had between them lots and lots of chances that would normally have been gobelled up. Chelsea had perhaps 3 or 4 chances in both games and scored from every chance. Also never going to happen again.
OK so Spurs may have done better themselves, but thee is absolutely no way that Chelsea would have been winning the CL without having the incredible amount of good luck they had.

because Gomez is terrible... he is awful, He missed so many chances
and as for the penalties, both robbens and in the shootout Cech went the right way every single time. Chelsea had obviously been practising their penalties

Don_tottenham - you are giving to much credence to things being down to luck or in the lap of the gods. Bolton were relegated the other week when a stoke player took the ball out of the keepers hands and was allowed to put it in the net. I'm sure a bolton fan would argue this was every bit as bad as lasagne gate. Barca and Bayern dominated but the likes of cahill and cole threw themselves in front of everything, and these european teams seem to be unable to handle drogba - it's just chelsea making the most of their assets not some hex against us. Fact is if we'd have stuck to the job and won just one more game when we were clear this would be academic, but we blew it - thats bad management and poor play and nothing more.
Besides, if we'd have got through then taking your viewpoint we'd have pobably drawn a side like Napoli in the qualifiers and not made the CL proper anyway.

Absolute nonsense Everyone has their fair share of bad decisions. (except utd)
You lot keep going on about Fulop while ignoring the fact West Broms 1st goal was 5 yards offside.

I said it takes MORE than luck mate. yes they caught a few breaks, but every club does at some point - you have to capitalise on those moments of good luck which chelsea did by scoring key goals and defending resolutely. Did you expect them to beat Barca by playing them off the pitch?
Whinging about bad luck, curses and feeling sorry for ourselves makes us look bad, we're better than that. we've played great football this season but are still a bit short, we have to deal with that positively, not feel sorry for ourselves like Liverpool.
