Lucio and Owen?!

Caulker and Luuk De Jong/Ante Vukusic.

Owen is finished at the top level, injury prone, seems more interested in golf and horse racing - football is just his pension and I don't want us to be the club that gives him it.

All of those are reasonable targets. Spurs are big pull now, expected to challenge for the top four at least (let's not forget that Spurs put up a challenge to the two Manchester clubs more than any other team did this season). And with the added benefit of being in London, there's no reason why such players wouldn't be attracted to Spurs.

I feel that Modric may leave this summer though. There was intense interest from Chelsea, and no doubt Modric will look on Chelsea's CL success with envious eyes. That Spurs won't be in the CL next season will just compound this.

I also think that Spurs need a keeper.

Ripleys cat once again 100% sensible.

Modric should not be sold to Chelsky on principle.
Come on Fergie : where is the official offer ??

Lucio is nowhere near as good as a few years ago and Owen isn't good enough for Spurs anymore in my opinion.

Spurs i believe are able to attract some very good players now, perhaps not the top bracket but then they would demand too great a wage anyway. The only thing that will hinder them is their lower wages but that is for the best of the club

Got to agree with Ripley, I think all these signings would improve Spurs. Owen as a pay as you play basis is not a risk, it worked for united, and he scored some important goals for them plus, if you're a young striker, there are worse players to learn your trade from.
Friedel has been a superb signing, but the time to start looking for a replacement is now, rather than waiting for him to finish/move, it might be worth a punt on Shay Given, after the season Villa have had.
I think Modric may move for CL football, but Bale will stay and of the two, Bale would be harder to replace.
You could also do with a young forward, someone to give an end product to your approach play (I think failing to put teams to the sword when you've dominated has been a problem for you)
As for the Europa, I've seen some balloon saying Spurs should boycott it to teach UEFA/The FA a lesson.
1. UEFA aren't going to change their mind and put you in the CL
2. It would make you look petulant, you're better than that
3. It only seems to be in England that the Europa League is viewed as failure/punishment, everywhere else takes it seriously as it's European Silverware to be won.
All the best for next season

Been good Chronic. Feels great to be champions. Last Sunday was incredible. Went through an entire range of emotions. And then got incredibly pssed!!

Never say never though Chronic. 5-6 years ago I would have felt exactly the same at City never winning the league as you do now. Spurs are a huge club, benefiting from a great location, and are now up there as regulars challenging for the Champions League. I imagine you all feel down today after securing 4th but having no CL football next year, but it is an anomaly. You'll challenge for top four again next season, and I see no reason why you won't achieve at least that. No matter what I think about City and our approach, full credit has to go to Spurs for your approach. You've all got every right to feel proud about your club. And who knows what the future holds?
