Sounds like they have it all worked out

Manchester City chief executive Garry Cook has revealed there have been conversations between the club and UEFA over how they intend to meet new Financial Fair Play regulations.
Given the grandiose plans for land around the stadium, it is estimated Etihad Airways have pledged £300million over the next 10 years for a range of projects that include renaming City's home the Etihad Stadium. Even so, it will not come close to wiping out losses in excess of £120million posted in City's last accounts, to May 2010, which leave them in jeopardy of failing to meet FFP.
"We have a very open dialogue with UEFA," said Cook, "We have had several meetings with UEFA about our plans and they are very supportive of Manchester City's ambition."
He added: "There are many football clubs who have the backdrop of regulation that is being placed into the world of football. We are no different to any other football club."
A special Airbus-330, with a City livery, will fly between Manchester and Abu Dhabi as part of the deal, which also includes an extension to Etihad's present shirt sponsorship and the renaming of an area around City's stadium, now known as the 'Etihad Campus'.
Having made the mistake of trumpeting rather too loudly his view of City's future direction, and been left with egg on his face when Manchester United beat the Blues in a 2010 Carling Cup semi-final, Cook is wary of saying too much at such an early stage of the summer.
"I have got into trouble with this one before," he laughed.
"We will look to continue our growth, on and off the pitch.
"Our ambition for next year means we are competing in a new competition - the Champions League -, plus the three others.
"We will endeavour to be successful in all four."

Lip service.
Keep them sweet for the forthcoming financial onslaught.

It's a pity the authorities haven't spent more energy in removing the corruption that is rife in the ivory towers of the governing bodies rather than concentrating on putting irritating laws in place which obviously doesn't concern the clubs involved.
It's like skelmersdale council trying to tell ASDA and Tescos how to run their corporations - simply ludicrous and will obviously end in failure

Everyone is looking at city like they are the only club with this problem, let's see how tough plattini is if say one or more of the big six doesn't meet his rules, my guess would be the threat of a club breaking away would make him change his opinion rather quickly!

Sure the link between the Sheik and the family airline will not be any problem

Anyone figure out who owns the shipyard the Sheik's new Yacht is coming from? Is it the same person who is now sponsoring City ??

It hasn't dawned on the big wigs that they operate under the sufferance of the big clubs, to be honest FIFA and Uefa could do with being brought down a peg or two, like the way this years champions league final was the most expensive ever, only after did they say this wont happen again, funny how it happened over here.

Canard, I said the big six, meaning the six
Biggest clubs in Europe, city is not one of those clubs so take a chill pill and wind your neck in, I simply stated that other bigger clubs than city will have difficulties too, wow you should take a deep breath and

Oh You know he wasn't. Shows even with the best backing a breakaway can fail.

But we digress from the real point, you veiled BK out message

You wont have read the Manchester evening news today but the front page has a story about the regeneration of the land around the etihad stadium, they include a new six form school community swimming pool new speedway track medical centre and business park, local residents agree the deal is good for the local population creating much needed jobs and facilities, name any other club which is doing anything like that, fact is our owners are in it for the long haul, Manchester will be better off for their investment.

If anyone can tell me why this is a bad thing please do so!

My point precisely. To compare Kerry Packer to a breakaway from the football clubs i mentioned, and the significance of them breaking away fro UEFA is silly.

As my original post referred to the obvious strategy that City`s money men had prepared to counter UEFA regulations, and the naiveity of posters, yourself included,in believing they would leave themselves open to retribuition from UEFA,i cant fathom how you see my point as relating to getting rid of Mr Kenwright.

Well it is prudent management that ensures we already meet the regulations and are not looking at ways round the rules. Even Cook is not certain they will.

Now I am certain that will not be an issue for Everton

Loz, the proposed community element is the kind of thing I would want attached toa shared Everton and Liverpool ground, injecting something special into the community of two Cities would be great

Cannard check your facts before you start up with the bilge talk, the council won't sell us the ground because they are making more money out of the club as the arrangement stands, is tha to difficult for you to grasp?

The shared ground proposal would make sence, coupled with local businesses it would be financially profitable for both clubs and allow regeneration to an area of Liverpool that needs it, the only problem is the tribalistic nature of the two clubs involved, it's a shame common sence takes a back seat to the nature of rival clubs an fans, the only other way round your lack of investment is a partnership with a large business that suits there needs and your own, has the plan for a new ground been completely discounted?

Am not whining like a little girl, am just as interested in what other clubs will do rather than beating one club with a stick the way you are by constantly talking about city as if it's only us who will be effected, you need to take a step back from giving city pelters all the time as if we are responsible for all the finacial woes of football at the momment.

Am not an arrogant fan I remember playing in the third tier of English football and being one penalty kick away from oblivion, we city fans will never forget that, I put my bum on a seat then as I do today!

Wow someone has a reall issue here and it's not me, whinning seems to be your special skill you think all city fans are arrogant and condescending, isn't that a bit of a stretch do you know that many? Isn't it arrogant presumption to suggest that in the first place.

Nothing I say will change your mind an I have neither the time required or the inclination to undertake such a mammoth task as to change your warped views on mcfc!
