yeah GFB I kinda thought that after i wrote my comment
The commentators last night were slating him for not getting on the ball, but with Chelsea's tactics, what he did manage was very impressive.

and agree with you on that. You are the only one who really rate Mata's contribution in a way. I think when Chelsea had the ball especially in the first half it was Mata who has done well with it. Good comment.
as much as i think gervinho is decent, things may have been a lot different for us had we signed mata instead when you look at how good he's been at chelsea.
Mata is class.
And it very obvious he'll never really fit in at Chelsea. They are way to defensive. Way too static. No movement. Nothing.
let the scapegoating flood our boards,as he can be a frustrating player and certain posters love to single him out.
...
That's aimed at me, isn't it?
I have no regrets in shouting Gervinho out, as some of his wastefulness in front of goal has been criminal and has cost us goals and points. And if he fails to learn his lesson, I'll happily pick up where I left off.
I think the biggest scapegoat will be Wenger. Irrespective of what signings are made, if we don't buy some big names, people will blame him, without knowing what is going on behind the scenes or what restrictions have kept him from bringing in other players. The board surely need to shoulder the burden too if things are to be fair. They hold the money, okay the transfers and generally call the shots, and Wenger is hardly going to contravene them.
I cannot believe we somehow allowed Mata to slip through our fingers. Wenger was still harbouring hope of keeping Fab and Nasri, but he should have sold them earlier, they'd already made their minds up to leave, and he could have got Mata for as little as £12m! He could have made such a difference to us this season, and is tailor-made for our style of play.
