The FA Cup....

I highlighted this in another article a few days ago, I really feel let down by us not winning it. It's a historical trophy and we're the most successful club side in it, we should try harder in winning it by starting more first team players in it and mix youth for their experience in the competition and the English game. Personally, I hope we go for it next season with the PL. We haven't won the double in ageesss.

Sure they try hard but seems to come at time in the season when we have quite a few injuries and there are lots of games. Then when we have done well we seem to get one of the other top sides either in the final or semi's .
Sure with a little luck we could win it again soon.

there is nothing better than cup final day with your team being involved. Havent had this in a while and i do miss it. The fact the FA sold out by not having the cup as the last game of the season is a joke i believe aswell.

We just concentrate on the league and CL

I think we may have prioritised the FA Cup over the Europa league if Liverpool hadn't got lucky

Just a fact of life for big clubs these days

Going for all three is a step too far and I doubt anyone will ever win all three in the same season. It's impossible

Bob Paisley never won an FA Cup. Too busy in Europe back then I guess too

Mixture of things. We really couldn't have been more unlucky with the draws this year. In other years, we have fielded weakened sides and at times suffered from bad luck too. All in all, we aren't taking it as seriously as we could be but when we draw a top side away from home, the selection is usually close to full strength.

That and having divisional play offs at Wembly.

I used to love the days when the only way you would get to play at Wembley was internation duty or FA and League Cup finals. it made Wembley special for the players involved. And the fans.

Saw an programme on MUTV about the FA Cup last summer and it is a priority with many of the players who see a failure to win it during their careers as a blot on their CVs. Its not for the want of trying that United haven't won it for so long.

Hazard will make sure we win it this season.

Seriously, I don't think it has this same appeal as it used to do. I am not bothered about the FA Cup anymore.

They've changed the name to the Chelsea cup in recent years

We dominated both the 2005 and 2007 finals. Chelsea and Arsenal robbed us really.

The 2008 campaign was particularly disappointing. We could have added it to a treble and to lose at home to Portsmouth was a shame. But you could argue that had we not got eliminated we may not have had enough gas to win both the CL and the PL.

And I also do think the FA Cup is still a decent competition. Nothing like a cup final day.

I don't think the FA cup is a priority, simple as that.

So has the effect of opening Wembley up to every man and his dog, to pay its astronomical development costs, led to the downfall of the FA cup?

Or is it just a case of the prize money isn't worth it/more important trophies?
I HATE not being involved on an FA cup weekend whether its the 4th Rd or Final - always a good atmosphere,

Another thing that's limited the FA Cup's importance and specialness is the semi-finals at Wembley - just makes the final at Wembley less special.
