roberts is unhappy.. the club, the chairman, the manager, his colleagues and the fans have all failed to meet his ambitions to get into the championship...

we have let him and peltier and pilkington down so badly that he deserves a move to meet his ambition and quality..we should be ashamed to be "holding him back"..

the failure to get promoted was nothing to do with super gary who has already banished it from his mind in a very proffessional manner in order to keep in contact with his agent and other clubs..And he would like more cash or at least nearly as much as peltier and pilkington or he may sulk...

Now unlike Pilks who I wish all the best, if true, would let Roberts go, f@#king Pri@k. Oh no, boo hoo, all my friends are leaving me on my own. I just can't cope

If he goes there, that's it he's burnt his bridges with us Town fans.I can't see him being Leeds type of player to be honest.

Just going off the above subject, have just got in from work (apologies if anyone has already posted this) and seen LC on SSN talking about Pilks but also who we have just signed and stating that the squad is getting there now. Presumably meaning we are only 1 or 2 players short of completing our movements into the transfer market. The only thing that may tell us that we can attract a couple of big signings would be DM coming to us. I would think his arrival would have been based on us buying big as I thought he would have gone into the Championship at least

The full interview is here on the official site.He says he is pleased with the squad and he hasn't totally given up on Johnson and if the right player becomes available he will make a bid.

Roberts = Flat track bully and great when we are 2 or 3 nil up........hopeless in tight hard fought games with his little flicks giving the ball away 90% of the time cos he doesn't want to get clobbered...!

If he wants out......let me grab my car keys and i'll drive him..!!

Surely this negative facade you put up is just that.....McDermott will be the most influential signing in League 1 this season bar none.....Gobern and Miller both attack minded.....we have got a pacy left sided centre half that we have all clamoured for that actually sounds like he opens his mouth......a utility full back that can play either left or right back......and with the possible departure of Roberts and Rhodes a further boost to the transfer kitty and several weeks left for the capture of maybe another right sided winger and a couple of proven centre forwards.......really why all the doom and gloom.....maybe you live near me as there is a huge thunder cloud overhead at the moment....!!!

GORRE..
we can sign anyone you care to mention..its very much dependant on what clark tries or does not try to do..
its also highly dependant on wether lee clark organises the defence on and off the field or wether p clark just does what suits him on the pitch..
jordan rhodes(if still here) might get a few goals but he wont do a great deal else, can you see anyone else matching him??
i can see novak working for 90 minutes a week but he wont score enough and alan lee and robbie simpson dont need any explanation..
given the goal scoring or lack of it we then appear to be moving towards another season of tight, dull matches in which we cant possibly be as lucky as we were on the unbeaten run.. it does not bode well...

What's all this talk of a right winger and 2 more strikers!

I've never read so much tripe. It's plain for all to see that this is a batten down the hatches half-season. Lee Clark says he's happy with his squad. What a muppet, or is he just towing the party line?

There'll br no serious money made available for transfers.

Lee Clark has been told he's in the last chance saloon and he now he has to prove himself by doing what he's been paid to do, which is to manage, coach and motivate the players to get the best out of them individually and collectively, and combine this with proper team selection, tactics and substitutions to get better performances and better results.

So far he's massively underachieved. Don't be fooled by the lucky results during the extraordinary 25 match unbeaten run, because we could play exactly the same again and easily lose 9 or 10 of those games.

The £3mill or so that has been "re-couped" will be staying up Dean Hoyle's sleeve for the new manager in the January window. The lack of any positive transfer activity, only loans, freebies and nominal fees sends the message out that Dean Hoyle has just about had it with Lee Clark and it's now up to Lee Clark to do what he's been paid to do and produce the goods

All a matter of how people perceive things differently TC....and I for one prefer optimistic rose tinted specs than ones that only perceive one outcome regardless...!!!!

Gore it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see through the cracks and make an opinion.

I made lots last year about our magnificent, superstar manager, about his signings, selections, tactics, motivational skills, substitutions et al. I am not a Lee Clark lovey-dovey and I do not wear the rose tinted specs that most people wear. Unfortunately most of my opinions last season turned out to be correct. Told you so, was difficult to spit out but if we play in the same manner and with the same spirit that we did last season then I'm afraid that a play-off place will be hard to come by, especially with the watering down of the talent in the squad.

"Told you so" may become a topic of conversation next May, or even much earlier than that. I hope not, but I'm not counting any chickens.

I think we're all hoping for a new style of play next season...last season left me bored rigid most of the time...heaven knows how we hung on for point/s in some games...sheer panic settles in after 80 minutes. Maybe we'll set another record of the most consecutive 1-0 wins...but my nails will be bitten down to my elbow by next May.

I'm also not a LC lovey dovey and have been highly critical of certain aspects of his tactics etc and am certainly not convinced he has what it takes to be a top manager but it is still early days in his career so i'll leave the done to death LC debate there.....

Not sure i agree with the "watering down" of talent.....Peltier....quality player no question but in the last few months of last season it was blatantly evident to everyone his heart wasn't in it as his performances dipped significantly......Jack Hunt proved a more than capable replacement and with the back up of Calum Woods i don't see the RB slot being an issue....

Pilkington.......again a player of high class and ultimately too good for League 1 and at that level is easily forgiven his sometimes poor attitude and work ethic.......if the rumours are to be believed then we may receive at worst £1.5 million and possibly a lot more........Donal McDermott......my tip for most influential buy in League 1 this season.....in the games i've seen him play he totally tormented us and ended up with our players literally scared to death of going anywhere near him and this lad will cost significantly less than Pilks....a bit early to say but based on the couple of performances i've seen this lad could easily turn out to be a bigger influence and player than Pilks and for a fraction of the fee....

Midfield......just a brief summary......can't dilute or water down water......Joey Badjonsson = awful & only here for the money......Kilbane = not much better......Kaye = not good enough......Gobern & Miller = still to be decided but can'y physically be any worse....!

Also a young quick left sided centre half to either replace McCombe or provide cover for him and PC then again this is not diluting any talent pool....

So i'm not sure we have really watered down or diluted the squad at all..YET...whether we make any more signings or lose any more players remains to be seen but there is a long way till the start of the season so i think it a tad early to say our squad is diluted and will struggle for a play off berth.....!!!

Once LC and his backroom staff have signed their new contracts I'm sure we'll see one or two big signings...that'll hopefully placate us. All that needs to be done then is to mould them into team of Div 1 champions ...
