One of the worst mistakes made by KK.
Was still our highest assister despite going off form when Gerrard came in and Lucas was injured and then getting injured himself.
He has something to give and I believe he will prove a good player for us.

i remember watching deadline day, at about 10pm i was thinking a nice quiet finish to the transfer window, just got beliers in and then...
10:15 merieles hands in transfer request
10:20 rm has had big by chelsea and terms agreed
10:30 medical done and he's gone to chelsea
i was literally like wtf?

Promises are promises. Rather than spending money on Adam he should have given Raul the payrise. KK had a very short memory cos when he first came in the player that got us winning was Miereles and then he dropped him and then sold him.

If he was promised a pay rise he should have received one....could you blame him for wanting to leave after a deal being reneged on? He was worth the rise after having a good season too
and whoever gave the 1 star, it is a bit harsh that isn't it?
He deserved a pay rise to be fair.
Really thought he was going to be the new Alonso.
It's like how we dealt with Aquilani. Give the man a game for god sake.

Fair enough but upon not getting one, he should have knuckled down and got on with it and a payrise would have followed.
Meireles was a bit overrated. He had a nice little spell for us, and he's been pretty average at Chelsea.
Adam played well at the beginning of the season when he had Lucas next to him providing cover and stability. He's a good squad player to have.
If we play a 4-3-3 next season my preferred 3 would be Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson
Meireles infuriated me to be honest. His goals softened the blow for me, towards the end of the season but whilst I thought his movement was outstanding, some of the best I've ever saw, he would shy away from tackling. I had the impression that he was a more defensive player when he first came but it became apparent that he wasn't able to tackle, at all.
It's his hair that worries me mainly...
I sincerely hope Aquilani comes back as he'll fit right into Rodgers' style of play. Adam is too immobile and wasteful to play possession game.

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Gerrard Lucas Aqua
RW Carroll Suarez
I hope he gets the chance to get rid of some players and sign his own.

Red Arrows, I like it.
Adam is too immobile and Downing is too direct. Don't see either of them being first choice. Also Gerrard has to improve his workrate as I've noticed he's been lazying about lately. Maybe the fitness doctors aren't doing a proper job.
Reina, the back 4, Lucas, Carroll, Suarez and maybe Gerrard would fit into the system. We now need quick and very technically gifted players for it to work.
Gerrard is brooding & mulling over what might've been had he made the right move four years ago maybe..
